Pentax glass is now overpriced, both compared to a few years ago and to the competition as well. What does a Pentaxian have to pay for an ancient 31mm 1.8? And what do you pay at the other brands for a lens with an equivalent focal length, but faster, with its own dedicated optical stabilisation and its own dedicated fast & silent motor? So, it's not only the fact that lenses are cheaper at the other brands, you get a lot more for the money as wel.
A few years ago the very same Pentax lenses were cheaper then the competition, because those lenses didn't need their own stabilisation and motor. That was one of the major advantages of going with Pentax. But the current prices don't really justify getting a lens that goes "WHHHEHEHHEEEEHEH!!!!" anymore.
