If you want to know what's going on at Pentax, ask someone from Tokina - or just ignore Pentax completely until a product ships.

What's stopping you from buying a FA* 80-200 2.8?

I don't really want to spend $1500-2000 on a used lens. I would on a new lens from Pentax... something like the non-IS Canons.

The Tokina 80-200/2.8 is quite fantastic and usually in the $600-$700 range. Just food for thought

What about the Tamron or Sigma lenses that are 70-200 f2.8?

I would pretty much guarantee that if Pentax has a 70-200 f2.8 lens for full frame that it will be 1500 to 2000 dollars new.

Probably more like $2000 to $2500.

So a Tokina employee confirmed that there is a rumor...... 10 years ago Pentax also had a FF body ready to launch........

I do believe a FF is coming. I hope it is really soon. IF its true that talks were underway prior to the Ricoh deal, then that means the FF has been under development for over a year or more.

Maybe it's more of the size of the electronics needed to get it moving? e.g. magnets, circuits, etc. while keeping size down to somewhere very close to the K-7/5/5-II/5-IIs body
Sony a99 has in body stabilization and its not a huge camera. Not as small as the K-5 but I don't think it is realistic that a full frame k-mount body would not be at least a little larger than a K-5. I'm thinking at least as big as the Canon 7D. Large for an APS-C camera, small for a full frame camera.,

If they have lens problems, they need the new lens design.

Would it be very special if Pentax could provide a FF with an adapter that made all manual lenses behave as AF lenses?
They already have such a thing I understood with the TC 1.7 adapter?
That would be a hit.......

Why say there is official confirmation when there isn't any? Total non story.

Well, the Nikon 70-200 VR II is only 2400, so I would doubt more than that.

Who else can we ask! Maybe Canikon has spies at Pentax who are willing to spill the beans?

Any news seems to be better than no news at all. But I think it's better to enjoy what we have and be surprised when the desired products come out...
