Amazing big viewfinder and small body don't really go together ... I much prefre a 100% X1 (or 0.90) viewfinder and a body as big as a 5D , than a small body you have to hold with a tweezers and an other X0.70 viewfinder.

A twisty screen could be a first on an FF no ?

How about an amazing big viewfinder attached to a small body?
But, really, if the viewfinder wouldn't be really good, I'd rather stay APS-C.

Or you take the big mirrors and prism off and you have an EVF ... but we don't want that either ... So it will have to be a compromise between a big or small body and a big or small finder

well i think one of the reason why pentax is reluctant to say out loud that they are developing ff body and lens is that people are less likely to splash out on aps-c bodies and lenses if they know for sure ff is coming...
exactly......

I wonder what would be the Pentax FF model's prefix? Would it be K3 or something? If it will be K3, then what would comes next after K5II for APS-C models? Maybe they'll be using 'MX' prefix? But that was already used with a P&S such as the MX-1. Or maybe they'll be using 'PZ' or 'Z' or 'MZ'? I'm excited about this good news.! =)

Yeah, I like the prefix 'Z'.
And, that's Nikon's grip, would be still better if it's Pentax's design.
And inside the mount, I wish they'll bring back the old lever where it automatically detects the aperture value of a manual lens with a aperture ring without an 'A' setting.

Full frame comments

1. Who wants to speculate upon the cost?

2.What is the ideal kit lens for a Pentax full frame?

3. Does this mean I should not buy a K-5IIs? Or should I buy one as a backup to the full frame?

4. This provides a new aspect to LBA sufferers, and reduces the attractiveness of the DA line.

I have to agree. I started out with Pentax when I was a photojournalist. I switched to Nikon in the late 1980s, but I came to regret it. For me, it was the glass; my Pentax lenses are pretty consistently superior to my Nikkor lenses (often strikingly so). I have sold off nearly all of my Nikon equipment and have returned to the Pentax fold.

I love Pentax. I'll never leave it.

Seriously, who gives a rat's arse what they call it, as long as they actually produce it?

Hmmm...
So will the FA Limited price goes down?
If Pentax do release FF, I'm expecting more FA lens to be produce.
With more lens, hopefully price will come down to more affordable level.

Just my wishful thinking...

Buy the K-5IIs since the Pentax FF is a dream that never seems to come true ;-)

If I sell my DA*16-50, 60-250, 55, 300mm I might afford a Pentax FF but probably not a lens so I'll have to use my Takumarlenses with the FF. But I wouldn't complaint

i hope pentax does not build a FF like the canon 60d 1/4000 max shutter speed dynamic range of 11 The k5 II
is better than this and it has a aps c sensor.

My MX disagrees. Tiny, "full frame" body. 95% coverage; 95% magnification. Why can't Pentax achieve a VF like this again? Make it twice as big as the MX, I don't care... just give me a premium VF. It's what makes the experience, for me.
