Well, whatever happens will definitely be interesting. As above, it makes no sense at all to replace the K-5 II and K-5 IIs... they are new. At the other end, is there a logical place for a camera between the K-5 II and the K-30?

But the answer is obvious, once you think about it. The K-3 will be a K-01 mirrorless replacement, with all the features in a more traditional shell... maybe more MX-like. And, if they can hang even a teeny optical viewfinder on it... anyway, we'll see soon, but that's my bet.

It has been officially confirmed by an anonymous photographer who has a cousin who knows someone who once went out with the tea lady in Ricoh that a rumour regarding speculation about a hypothetical full-frame camera has been postulated (in theory).

This is like the boy who cried wolf. When a real genuine thread with pictures, videos, physical samples, heck free K-3 samples, coupons and even cold hard cash embedded, I will yawn and go back to work without even a glance haha.

Can't these multiple threads siting the same Google+ source and RH be merged into a single thread titled "Dubious FF claims for 2013 - read if you have free time"

Ricoh have a production facility right? Perhaps they've been tooling that up getting ready to produce a new line... ..but my intuition tells me that it will yet be another epic April Fools Day where all and sundry will dig the boot into the poor Pentaxian.

HAHA.. only thing is it's been like that for even longer.. You can find threads from 8 years ago with people getting all excited about "this is the year of the Pentax FF" etc.. it really is tragic.

I don't see a FF being released until late this year or early next year. For this year I see the line-up being 4 aps-c cameras consisting of K300, K30, K5ii/s and K3/s. The prices being $500, $750, $1,100 and $1,600 or there about. So the K5ii is not being replaced, it is just not going to be the flagship model any longer.

We shall wait and see. I, for one, will believe it only when I see it and before that I am not willing to lose any sleep over it.

P.S. I want to believe!

Too soon for a full frame to come out, imo, but they could always announce it on the same day they come out with another product.

Last fall, there was a rumor on here before a tradeshow (PMA?) that the 24 MP APS-C was being delayed until early 2013 and that a refined K-5 would be released at the trade show instead, and the refined K-5 part of that rumor turned out to be true with the K-5 ii. Going off that rumor and Ricoh's only recently public suggestion of work on fullframe I've been assuming a higher level APS-C camera in the spring and a full frame camera possibly by this fall at the soonest.

Then again Pentax has a lot of holes to fill so it could be just about anything. An entry level camera is possible. Maybe Ricoh's rumored APS-C point and shoot. Etc. etc.

But one never knows which rumor to believe on here so we'll have to see

Mike Svitek is taking a step in another direction:

"I heard rumors from Ricoh that they are working on a completely different module for the GXR: A full-frame KS mount module... Its to be what M4/3 is to the original 4/3 system... same mount, just a compressed flange distance. I can NOT guarantee this information, but I dearly hope its true. They should have done it with the K-01 "

then a misstep:

"Almost all DA and all DA* lenses are full-frame compatible." then "I shoot film SLRs with my DA lenses... no problems other than lots of vignetting which clears up by 2 stops. The newest lenses all work well, including my 16-50mm f/2.8 which is seriously wise at 16mm"

then a step back (concerning the 24x36 Pentax he says he is testing):

"March 27?? ... They told me end of 2013 to start of 2014 (Q1 turnaround) What's this I hear about March???"
