My guess is that it will be K2, as I earlier predicted on this forum. That is the only modelname from the K series, from when it was used at the filmcameraes, that hasn't been used on previous models. K2 was the top then. Also remeber the font used at K-01 was excatly the same as they used in the filmdays. The new compact is called MX-1, also from the best they made from those days. So crop will be K3 and maybe later K1. The 0 means no mirror. So a mirrorless fullframe would be K-02. At Photokina one of the emploies by Pentax said it would come a K3 rather soon. I asked if it would be a crop, and he said yes!

2 things about the FF and the K-3 I learned when asking the "betatester". (As long as he's not trolling me and everybody else )

1: He's using the name K-3 as people associate the Pentax fullframe with it. It's NOT the REAL name! (That doesn't mean there's no APS-C K-3 coming, though! 5 cameras to be announced in two days, if you believe further rumors.)

2: He WAS testing a fullframe though!

Also, keep it quiet but I may or may not have been testing a more sports orientated Pentax DSLR at my recent derby bouts that's going to be released in exactly 1 week ;] I can't say anything other than it shapeshifts into a bramble and can autofocus backwards through time.

why would pentax sink all those investment $$ to put out a hyper expensive da 560 for crop sensor then release a full frame?
it leaves me to think K3 is at least a year away. still think 24 mp crop will be made before a ff.
just my 2 cents

thanks

So, why do they sell K5II in the US with three prime lenses that are fullframe, and cashback, unless a fullframe is coming rather soon? Why not make an offer including DA lenses? According to test you can use DA lenses with a 1.4 teleconverter on full frame, and they will fill the frame. A such converter is on the roadmap for Pentax.

That would be too awesome
But Pentax got used to concentrate on small cams, so I guess this would be too good to be true. My votes go for a FF, an APS-C, a mirrorless and 2 compacts like the WG-Series.

So much for FF, most likely an APS-C or entry-level

Please, make it stop! They're probably just going to officially announce the body cap lens and the new flash, geez!

645 has also got large pricereduction in Us, and also in Norway. It will be replaced this year. Pentax has already launched MX-1 and three new models in the WG-series. They have to have more models to chose from in the consumers market in competition with Canikon. So K30 will be the midentry level, K3 the top level crop, and K300 the entry-level camera. Since K-01 is discontiniued, they replaces it with K-03, hopefully.

Ha!

If history is any indicator, there may also be a new lens cap series with holes in them.

But if I am allowed to let my imagination roam in warm green fields of spring wildflowers for a while, Pentax will announce a radically new lens technology (sans lead) which will cause chins to drop around the world and will be of a hydrid design to be ready for a FF camera later this year. Maybe that could explain the current backorder situation for Pentax lenses.
