Pentax FF vs. Others.

I would go for anything between the K-5 and the D600. The D600 is a bit larger than the K-5 but it's not huge.

Yes, but only slightly.
And the finger placement difference is barely noticeable.

I'm not sure a Pentax FF has to be huge. Throughout Pentax history they have been the producer of the compact SLR. I'm sure with some work the new FF can come in under the size of the D600. Well, it would be nice anyway.

I'd be happy enough with that: I still love how my K20d handles, (The K-5/grip combination looks even better, that way, but I haven't gotten to handle one.) I was thinking about it and betting on something even smaller than a gripped K-5 cause of an integrated battery grip: if they want to go for compactness, I'm sort of guessing they may as well make the most use of space and share a lot of a good and popular design.

Sharing parts and things with the K-5 line or whatever the K-3 is, if that's differen from the current models. (I don't see a pressing need to change that much, by all accounts: the way I'm picturing things, it seems that integrating the extra battery capacity doesn't have to add a whole lot more bulk than the full-frameness might have to, anyway. )

But the thumb rest placement is different. I much prefer the BG-2 over the BG-4. Actually, I prefer the overall gripped k20D's ergonomics over the gripped k5's.

Possibly poor design...
Pentax has compact FA lenses with fantastic rendering...
Leica & Zeiss ZM lenses(f1.4) are even smaller than Pentax FA but FF compatible and are excellent....

Imagine how cool (and tiny) a mirrorless (and mirrorboxless) Pentax FF could be, with such tiny super-quality glass... That would make Pentax the talk of the year.

We all dream and hope that will happen one day.
It will be interesting to look at the size of NEX FF in 2014 and its range of lenses.

Honestly, I don't. One of the reasons I like Pentax gear is compatibility (both backwards and forwards).

I did too, but quickly got used the the K-5 ergonomics with and without the grip.
