Would you buy a Pentax Full Frame DSLR? extended poll

Of course I would buy a full frame Pentax , since I wish to use my K 28/2, K 28/3,5 , K 35/2 and FA 31 ltd.as they sould be.

1/250 flash support
Full aperture coupling so you can use K and M lenses
I would add I want both P-TTL and TTL flash support (like *istD)
I would also want HSS off camera to be supported with the in body flash (also like *istD)
I think a 96 segment petering pattern would be good as long as you can turn off the central 6-9 segments for split image finders

At this point, I already DID buy one. Since Pentax STILL hasn't gotten off their rear end and come out with one, the one I bought is a Nikon. Still have my Pentax mount glass, so you never know, maybe I'd become a dual system shooter. Or maybe not.

If the price is right, I would buy one. I switched from Canon to Pentax a few years ago for the K-5. I had a shot at FF Canon bodies, but wasn't ready for the FF financial commitment. Economics has to be a major consideration for Pentax/Ricoh as well...

Sorry here. This information may be here. I am so struggling with this FF upgrade. I thought that I need to repalce all of my current pentax lens to a new FF lens. Someone just told me I do not.
I feel kind of lost in technology.
I need to be told. I need the new lens or I do not. And yes, I understand the difference in the WR lens and others?

For us to be able to tell you, you'd need to tell us what lenses you have. You very likely have some lenses that are FF capable and some that are not.

Might do but have no real burning desire at the moment. I'm a bit behind the times perhaps using a K200 + focal range from 10mm to 300mm, but this and the MX1 have my needs covered for now. So as it stands today. No.

I wouldn't mind an FF, however, I need lens manufacturers to get some new FF glass. My Samyang 85mm f/1.4 should work. My 18-200mm Sigma DC wouldn't, and I suspect the same for the Pentax 18-135mm.
APS-C will fit legacy FF, but the reverse is not true, meaning I'd lose out on a lot of glass.

It's 90+% likely that Pentax would 'let' you use your old glass, like Nikon would.

Right now there are over 30 fullframe Pentax lenses for sale new, more than a lot of mounts have options. That's for a mount/sensor combo that isn't being sold... options should increase in the future, too.

Yes, I will definitely buy a Pentax FF dslr. I've been waiting over a decade, and It's LONG OVERDUE. Many Pentax users have thousands of fantastic full frame k-mount lenses that need a FF sensor to get back to their correct shooting angles. APS-C simply requires to much extreme wide angle lenses, with the optical issues they bring, for my taste. An FA 20, 24, 28, 31 Ltd produce simply great pics and should be mounted on a FULL FRAME K-1 camera. The K-3, while nice, just doesn't move Pentax forward like a K-1 with FF sensor would. The entire digital world is moving to larger sensors, and Pentax better plan for this very soon. It's not hard to put a FF sensor in the K-3 body, after all, since the K-mount is sized for 35mm. Sony can do this in their sleep. Pentax, wake up and get going soon.

I too want a Pentax Full Frame DSLR with a "K" mount and optical viewfinder, and I don't care how much (as long as its under $2500) it costs. I have collected too many K-mount lenses over the decades to switch over, and my most recent camera, a K-01, is not happy because it doesn't have an optical viewfinder and cant see to focus in bright sunlight. I ended up putting an LCD Viewfinder Loupe on it for now (Amazon.com: GGS Perfect Foldable LCD Viewfinder 3X Magnification for Canon, Nikon, Sony and Other DSLR Cameras by CowboyStudio (ggs3.0x LCDVF): Camera & Photo) but would prefer an optical viewfinder AND A FULL FRAME SENSOR.
