1. True Full Frame 36x24, 16-24mp sensor (to allow for faster buffer/image transfer)
2. High RAW color depth and Dynamic range of 14.4 EV or better
3. Fabled automatic "crop" for DA Lenses (1.4 crop factor to produce a 25x18, 18Mpx RAW file)
4. Two versions of sensor, one with and one without the anti-aliasing filter (like the K5ii and K5iis)
5. Dual SD card slots capable of using SDHC, SDXC and up to UHS card
6. HUGE, Fast and intelligent buffer. (With a huge and fast internal and INTELEGENT buffer, this rig could take large amounts of successive shots without slowing down or skipping a beat. Imagine firing 25 or 30 shots, lifting your finger off the shutter and instantly being able to shoot more shots, waiting for the buffer clear depending solely on the speed of the card).
7. High frames per second, at least 8 FPS
8. Of course a strong magnesium (or aluminum) frame/chassis.
9. Fully weather and dust sealed (even tighter than the K5ii)
10. Still have Sensor Shift shake reduction. (level, composition adjust ect)
11. Built in GPS (with automatic location Metadata tagging).
12. Built in WiFi with accompanying IOS, Androd, Windows Phone, Blackberry 10 app for live view, exposure, AF, control. Also allows jpgs to be sent to phone for quick sharing. Allow wireless tethering with PC/MAC and Lightroom 5 out of the box. Even better, allow it to be controlled through any web browser capable of HTML5
13: 1/8000 shutter speed. no slower
14: 1/250 flash sync speed (at minimum)
15: AF points that cover the full frame, not just the APS-C crop
16: 40+ selectable AF points
17: native iso from 50-128,000
18: HD Video modes with aperture/shutter control while recording.
19: support for power zoom lenses (and develop new power zoom lenses) for use with video modes
20: uncompressed HDMI out
21: USB3
22: Uses same battery as K5
23: AA batteries with optional battery grip
24: internal viewfinder shutter instead of viewfinder cap
25: additional programmable function button gripside of the lens
26: interchangeable viewfinder system ala the LX
27: NO FLIPPPY SCREEN
28: built in panorama mode
29: non-crippled mount that can sense aperture on non-CPU lenses
30: 1 million dot or better 3" LCD screen
31: ability to select RAW low/medium/high. lower the resolution for faster frame rate, buffer speed, storage
32: redesigned radio based flash system using bluetooth. Uses bluetooth to link up with Pentax Bluetooth flashguns. No line of sight, no misread flashes, no preflashes, fully controllable through the camera menu system. Still has backwards compatibility for wireless triggering of legacy flashguns. Tech would probably limit use of either the bluetooth or legacy system, not both at the same time. If not Bluetooth, some other RF system.
33: More than 30 minutes recording time in video mode
34: ability to record a still image while recording video, without interrupting the video
35: self timer for video start (ie: press video record, wait 5 seconds, video recording starts)
36: internal LED based flash system that can also work as continuous lighting
37: 24-70 F2,8, 70-200 f2.8, 10mm f3.5, 24 f1.8/2.8, 35mm f1.8, 43mm f2, 50mm f1.2/1.4/1.8/2.8 Macro, 77mm f1.8, 85mm f1.4/f1.8, 100 f2,8 macro, 135mm f2, 24-70 f3.5, 70-200 f4, 200 f3.5, 300 f4, 24-100 f4.5, 70-400 f6 lens lineup at launch, all weather sealed.
38: strap lug points mounted opposite the grip side (think LX) on top/bottom of camera, as well as grip side top plate.
I admit... I started dreaming pretty high here.... its kind of a combination of LX, K5, D4, D800, 5DMKIII
