Can you just open the aperture an extra stop and use a wider angle lens?
e.g. a 50mm lens on a crop sensor at f2.8 would give a very similar similar FOV and DOF of a 75mm lens on a FF sensor at F4.0 and keep the same perspective.

Naturally, if you want a FF look of f/2.8 on your crop body, you may not find a lens that has the capability to go down to 2.0, etc....

I experimented with stereo frames and found no good software to compute depth maps from. The results have been disappointing quality wise. If anybody knows of a decent software, please let me know. E.g., AgiSoft isn't it.

BTW, Pentax is known for its stereo adapter which can be screwed into a lens' filter thread.
