On an A7, the FA limiteds are huge. Even when designed for mirrorless, as the 43mm special (leica) was, they get quite big.

I'd guess to make mirrorless pancakes, they'd have to be designed from scratch.

Can't be as huge as the Zeiss 55mm though, surely!?

Students want a camera that can be handled by their smartphone and not some old thing from the past.
Not all of them.

The Art Department at my local High School has reopened the wet darkrooms and CLA'ed the K1000's they put away in 2004. Photography as the Art area requirement course (one needs 2 years of Art in HS to graduate) has a Prerequisitie now - Film Photography. Shoot, Develop, Print. Just like the old days.

Photography can also lead to Journalism - Newspaper or Journalism - Yearbook, which are taught as vocational career path courses, not extra-curriculars

Film Photography is ridiculously oversubscribed.

Another wish:
ISO dial. Since exposure is a three legged stool so to speak, I really miss having fast access to iso settings when in manual mode, which I am most of the time.
Which modern cameras have an ISO dial?

I'd like it to have wifi and to create error logs when odd things happen that it sends to Ricoh for software analysis. That might help make the firmware upgrades stronger.

Also, Ricoh should go buy some Silicon Valley startup that specializes in some camera or firmware app (for smartphones) and let them build the software and menu system. Right now all the big camera makers use basically the same model -- camera, standard menus, and SD card. It would be good to get someone with a different viewpoint involved to change up the standard model or add to it.

Without really spending a dime, Ricoh could incorporate this ability just by making their firmware open source. Just like how there is a variety of different "flavors" of Linux, Pentax could open itself up to other innovative developers by having an open-source firmware that could be redesigned as capabilities and needs change.

That would probably reveal a number of proprietary software aspects such as ISO algorithms and hardware functionality.

Fuji X-T1 does. But it's locked with a push-pin, so it's not perfect.

I know I could be the only one, but I would like a mirrorless, EVF-less and monitor-less camera that interfaces with a phone or tablet via wi-fi to be operated. My only interest in fullframe is for landscape, and a 48 MP full frame sensor, very good at base ISO is just what I need. With just digital shutter, even if it means long time between shots to reset the sensor. No mirror, no mechanical shutter, no need to touch the camera, would bring ultimate sharpness. Hopefully.

For all of my other photographic needs APS-C is perfectly suited.

I would buy the camera you describe regardless of the fact that I'm not interested in landscapes at all. Such a device would rock in a studio as well.

my wish list.for a strobist dream come true
1) improvement on the accuracy of PTTL
2) To allow 3 groups light control in camera
3) To release its own PTTL HSS wireless trigger and reciever that can be used on both PTTL flashes or manual strobe.

LOL I make a pre-order... but seriously the FF sensors will become cheaper with the time, Sony is pushing hard there. Pentax is using Sony sensors, so it is just logic, sooner or later, they will come with a FF Body and as Pentax tries hard to make eveything a bit better then others it will be for sure a serious quality tool. If I just think of all the quality problems other brands had or still have, from oil smeared sensors to lightleaks.... etc.
