I think every year on April 1st there's been announcements of a Pentax Full Frame camera. This year there wasn't one. Coincidence? I think not
Is it time to take this the way of "Why I won't buy a K-3" and start calling them "Cheeseburger D'images"

Well, at least there is an FF lens on the roadmap so it isn't totally unlikely this time....

Nothing on this rumor? Scans, translations, anything?
Someone who read the article says it's nothing like this, CdI is not saying Pentax/Ricoh will make a 135 camera - they were just talking about past rumors: Re: A credible FF rumor???: Pentax SLR Talk Forum: Digital Photography Review

Well all the buzz will keep us warm!

PhotoKina is Always good to be looking forward. In 2010 they didn't have a FF Pentax, but they did have a mermaid tank:

In the past four Photokinas, Pentax has announced 3 new flagship consumer DSLRs (K10D, K-5, K-5 II), and in the other, 2008, they announced two pro lenses (DA* 55, 60-250).

Since they chose to have the 645Z out now, they must have something significant to show at Photokina 2014. The original 645D was also shown in the spring of a Photokina year, 2010. That was the year the K-5 was released, which was a pretty huge leap forward in IQ. Too early for a K-3 replacement, and entry level models wouldn't cut it for the biggest tradeshow in the photography industry IMO. And the only "pro" lens on the K-mount roadmap is the mysterious 70-200 " * lens" (conspicuously not labeled "DA*"). Make of that as you will.

Heh, DPReview's camera and lens databases are pretty convenient for referencing announcement dates (though the K-5 and K-5 II were pretty easy to remember).

Here we go again:

- rumour lacking any detail;
- 100 pages in PentaxForums of speculation, photoshopped body fakes, various side-tracked discussions;
- nothing happens in Photokina.
What a cynic you've become...

The only problem is I feel the same as you, so that's at least two cynics here on the forum.

Nothing from Arno, nor from Mistral75? Is there anyone here with access to the CdI magazine?

Speaking of DPReview...

Someone at this thread over there says they have that magazine, and it doesn't say that at all. It just says that a Pentax person said "never say never" when asked about a FF camera in the future (not mentioning Photokina until later in the article).

So again, it seems like this is much ado about nothing...

Given the premise, I'm even too lazy to go outside, cross the street and buy the thing, but I know one thing: Ricoh Imaging facebook french page has almost everytime comments about the lack 35mm camera, to the point they answered at one time with a post which said in substance : "We do not know, we were never told anything despite following your questions. With interviews like pentaxforums, you guys almost know more than us". So if Chasseur d'Images got something, it was not from Ricoh Imaging France.

Doesn't surprise me at all.

Don't worry folks, next fake Pentax FF rumor is always just around the corner...
