What is "need" and what does it have to do with camera acquisitions?

Ready when they are; I would rather not buy a newly launched camera but wait a bit to confirm there are no significant bugs on the first batches. I'll also want some new, modern lenses, perhaps I'll start with that?
I'm in no hurry, I don't have to get everything at once.
With every tenth thread crying about that the OP "need" FF soon or they'll switch brand I feel the word need is needed.

Ready? Yes, have sold most of my APS-C lenses, only kept my DA15 and DA 18-135. Have instead bought a few FA lenses and already have many manual lenses. Money? No, problem. But do I want to buy a FF-camera? No, I'll keep using my K-5 the following years, it's good enough for me

Similar feeling. I am more than happy with K5-II. I don't want a K3, much less a FF.
Lenses on the other hand.... must resist....next year.

I sold most of my Pentax lenses two years ago, but replaced a few after having withdrawal symptoms.
These are all that remain:
FA31LTD
FA77LTD
DA*55
DA*200

But I just bought a D810, so can't imagine being interested in anything else for awhile, although I want to sell my D800Es and a few lenses so who knows what's in store.

Note that the DA35, 40, 50 and 70 along with all the DA* primes work on FF. There's a guy who's tried them out on film.

Professional AF zooms are an issue though.

No problem here. Lenses? Check! Wife happy that I spend more money on camera equipment. Check! (Actually, that's a lie! It will take some convincing!!)

Well with Ricoh Imaging hiring Nikon/Canon photographers to do their promotional work, maybe you better first buy into the competition and see if they hire you back.......Yes a little cynical, but again it happend with the introduction of the 645Z (as with the K-3).

I´m reshuffeling my setup but are ready for a FF camera.

With FA31mm, DA*55mm, FA*85mm and DA*300mm I´m good to go.

the sigma 8-16mm f/4.5-5.6 and Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 ASPH* both cannot be used on FX format ( with some pretty heavy restrictions) they have no peer in terms of optical quality (especially the sigma 8-16mm) so I will still be using my K5IIs.
If the FF Pentax is 36MP with an Exmor sensor (like the D800, D800e or D810) you would be able to use it in auto-crop mode and your images will look exactly like the output from your K-5, in MP, AOV/DOF, DR, and noise. You wouldn't need to use your K5II with the DX lenses, in other words, unless you wanted a second body.

Yes. It bears emphasis, because this feature will be a welcome and much-used 'transition' option. Auto-crop or selected crop makes going FF painless, you don't need to dump your aps-c lenses immediately, or at all.

I have a little over $5,000 sitting aside for either a new Pentax FF and 70-200 or to switch systems. I have another $1,200 set aside for a high quality prime.

I would think that a camera company such as Rioch / Pentax would use their own products (generally referred to as "eating one's own dog food") for the creation of their promotional & advertisement materials. To do anything else is just being extremely disingenuous to their customers. What message does that send to us - their past and potentially future customers. Someone in marketing needs to get a clue! Are we seeing a return to lack of marketing? Common sense - or lack there of?

Well I think they should also start hiring someone who works with Pentax instead of someone who wil hold the camera for one day if you pay him enough. How else can Pentax users ever be professional?

Like this puts.

Shooting with Pentax for one day!
