I dunno, haven't seen too bad press about the LX, the MX, the K-10D, the K-5, the 31mm, the 77mm. Occasional bad reviews on the 15mm, 35mm Macro, and DA*300mm, but 90+% good.

Plus black cameras and lenses look a little sinister. <...snip...> Either way Pentax gets criticized for EVERYTHING it produces.

I actually liked the Stormtrooper models. It's funny that I liked the limited edition red lacquer 645D, but not the red plastic bodies as much.

I think part of the problem is that if they produce a nice camera, like the K-3 or 645Z they get far fewer and less vocal praises from users, even when they get heaps of awards. I don't know that they get knocked for those... maybe a bit of 'oh, another me too camera'.

But produce something unexpected (either in position in the model line or overall design) and they get lots of negativity dumped on them.

I probably should be less negative. Maybe even positive.

I think many, many people view the K-3 as the best APS-C camera out there. Nearly universal here, and even Nikon people acknowledge that.

The 645Z is obviously in another class. Haven't paid too much attention to it.
