It must be true. I heard it from the manager of a Wolfe Camera store in Chattanooga in 1989. I would go by and ask him, but they are out of business.

With the locking of threads due to 'beating a dead horse', I'm surprised these other digital Full Frame threads haven't been locked. Actually, we could lock a large majority of all threads on PF since most/all things we've discussed in the past 6 months were likely discussed before in the 6 months preceding it... as well as the 6 months before that.. and ad finitum.

We should just lock the subforum.

I asked Adam once about running the site as a wiki, where people would ad relevant stuff and the articles would just get better and better. He tried it and no one participated. It would seem everyone has to have their say. As a part of social media that''s fine, if the site were ever to try and become an organized dispenser of information, the current format, re-inventing the wheel in every thread would be un-acceptable. The site does accept articles , instructions, there is lots of opportunity for those who have skills they want to share. Most just want their opinions to be heard, and to hang out with the crowd.

Photokina's coming up, though - so it'll be interesting to see if some groundbreaking achievements come to light.
Indeed, there are some pretty interesting (non-Pentax) rumours floating about. Curved sensors, organic sensors etc

Maybe that's what Pentax is holding off for (almost as plausible a reason as Aliens!)

LOL

They're expecting free-range to make an appearance at Photokina 2016. Unforeseen difficulties with rounding the buggers up!
