Dear Pentax

Thank you for all the memories and fun times we had together. Unfortunately it is time for us to part and a shiny new full frame Canon is currently on its way to me. I'm sorry that I could not have spent these thousands of dollars on a Pentax product, but such a product does not exist.
Please, I hope we still remain friends.

Ben

Drop in on the non-Pentax zone now and then - enjoy the new tool!

Good to hear.

Pls don't be tempted to mangle any Pentax lenses to make them work on Canon, however. I've seen that done before and it seems cruel.

Enjoy your 6D. I had one and for low light, high ISO images, given the price, it has no equal.

The rest of the Canon system, the terrible focusing, the horrible flash, the overpriced OK lenses... that is another story altogether. Although I had a Tamron 24-70 VC that delivered big time. I miss shooting at ISO 6400 and beyond without thinking about it twice (ala 6D). Otherwise my K3s and my Limited lenses work circles around their counterparts in Canon world.

I loved my 6D but I love my new Pentax system even more. All my diehard Canon and Nikon friends thought I had lost my mind going to Pentax. After seeing some of the images I have produced, they are having second thoughts about their systems now!

All the best and continue to enjoy your photography, many folk run multiple systems to get what they need.

I never left film (Pentax), so recently, I decided to get into digital. Since I am not willing to get APC S size viewfnders, I decided for FF. Since Photokina was around the corner, I decided to wait in the event Ricoh would come out with a FF Pentax, as so many hoped for, alas, it looks like I always suspected: no FF; therefore my money is going into the new Nikon FF 750 system as soon as it is available.

Darn. If you left Pentax all the way it would mean more sales in the Marketplace

Canon 6D vs Pentax K-3 - Our Analysis

So aside from the lower noise at a higher ISO and a GPS what exactly are you gaining with the 6D?

Are full-frame bragging rights really worth twice the cost of a K-3? If so, alrighty then

In Australia I have just paid $1660 for 6D body. K3 body is $1344. I paid $1650 for my K5 when it was released. Yes, I think improved ISO, GPS, Wifi and larger format is all worth the $300 body premium over the K3, additionally I can walk into multiple stores and buy lenses and other accessories - which I cannot do with Pentax.

I have listed some of my items in the marketplace, but no not all, K5 still has a performance edge over 6D in some specs that make it well worth hanging onto.
