Cp+ 2015 - FF

So will 2015 be the year?

Edit: The poll was suppose to close 02-12-15, but didn't take.. closing on the 18th. Doesn't really matter I guess.

Next year is the year of Pentax FF. A statement that will never be false.

Could be, but I've been saying that for years now.

Im sure next year Pentax will definitely work hard to try and assure its customers that they are exploring all possibilities and starting market research, which might some day result in a camera that may have a sensor of different size than APSC. Or not.

At this point I'm going to have to say...

.

Nope.

There are always reasons to delay an important, difficult decision when you look for them. Unfortunately I suspect Pentax's management and their Ricoh executive sponsorship have spent too much valuable time looking for those reasons.

Pentax-as-brand will continue for the foreseeable future as an aps-c DSLR maker dabbling in MILC, and their viability will last as long as that niche does.

At some point in the years to come (after 2015) they may opt for a FF body in some form, but all product niches will have been filled, market advantages squandered, and it will be a continuation of a limp-along stategy they seem to be employing now, with aps-c DSLR.

Very sad to say this and I would like to be wrong. K-mount has some true jewels and some of my best shooting (and funnest shooting adventures) have been with Pentax.

We'll believe it when it comes from something other than a hacked-looking French Facebook page (ie an official announcement or real Pentax rep)

Also, the translation:

"The full frame is in development right now ! We will keep you informed on this page !"

When I had a full frame (film) I was told that real photographers use mid format. This will always be the case, that whatever you have isn't good enough. There may very well be a full frame Pentax in 2015, but with all of the features that will be lost (SR is the first to go), we will be told that it isn't a "real FF", so what does it matter?

I think yes for 2015, but not for CP+, too early.

I bet on March/April or September.

I'll bet you my 77ltd that you will not see a Pentax K-mount Full Frame camera in 2015. What will you put up?
