Have you noticed this #19?

So the question #19

#19. As you indicated in previous interviews, are you still considering expanding the K-mount camera system to use sensors larger than APS-C?

This is a question that we cannot disclose, but as I said in the 645Z questions, we think that the 645Z is one of our answers toward the high-end of customers.

At the same time, we know that the full-frame market is growing. So, our engineers are engaged in the development of full-frames, but with the question of when to launch/release the product, we will want to carefully study the market trend.

Call me crazy, but I see an opening for APS-H

For me, it's just a way to ask the full frame question without saying full frame.

The difference between FF and APS-C is already small enough (or large enough depending on your perspective) to cause forum wide brawls, what would the difference between APS-C and APS-H cause?

I've rarely seen so much perseverance. Sorry Ron, but ''larger than APS-C'' is in the question. If it was in the answer, was something, but not so.

And about perseverance, maybe this is how this ''crazy'' Dutch have managed to build a third of their country under the sea level.

I think it must mean that Pentax is looking into creating a brand new sensor format called Micro Full Frame. It will be a FF sensor cut in half, and be fully compatible with all K-mount lenses in production.

Let's call that the new FF

I regret the day I mentioned that format.

If you recall that camera was a disaster for Leica. The Leica M9 and Leica Monochrom are better in every way.

Nobody still uses the format. It was stop-gap measure until fast enough CPUs came out for high-speed FF shooting.

Actually the reason they came out with APS-H was the fact that sensor yields for 24X36mm sensors were abysmal, with early sensor tech. APS-H was the biggest sensor they could make viable.
