One booth will be featuring user submitted art from the K3, K50, etc...

I know because I was asked to give them full files for print.

CES is a huge show.... one of the biggest in America

why not launch here? #JustSpeculating

i dont think that a Japanese company will release an epic FF at the US.. my guess is for CP+ in February.. but i think that they might be showing "something" new at CES .. a more complete set of lenses perhaps? or some sort of spectation so the press can start talking about Pentax FF.. might be good for start doing some marketing in order to prepare the grownd for a release.

Ricoh Imaging America will spend their time at CES rounding up new Dealer Agreements. The actual products on display will merely be the candy.

Any significant new product announcement will happen at CP+. Japan is Ricoh's major market. North America is an afterthought. Sux to be an American Pentax user, doesn't it?

I get my info directly from the source. 2015 will be a good Pentax year. Mark my words I am not allowed to share details etc, but i know something will be made public in the beginning of 2015.

Honestly it's difficult for me to believe Pentax would NOT release a FF in 2015. The technology is getting too ubiquitous, and the cost/benefit is far too advantageous for Ricoh to ignore in 2015.

But I thought the same in 2014. and 2013. and 2012.

My Pentax will be full frame next year - the brand name may not be Pentax/Ricoh anymore...

Agree. Looking back I am glad they did not go there earlier, I think it would have ended badly. I do not think they were ready, and releasing a half baked 'me too' FF with insufficient lens support would have been, well, bad.

But I think things are coming together, new FF lenses, better FF sensors, Ricoh getting a better handle on production and QC, faster image processors. Looking forward to 2015.

I have said it before, and i say it again; a FF is coming! I cant share all i know, but most will be public sooner then people think. 2015 will be a major step for Pentax and Ricoh.

My guess is not well. And not just because it is Pentax. I think a lot of retailers are re-evaluating the camera business based on declining sales versus the cost of holding expensive gear in inventory.

For example my local Best Buy just re-arranged the store (again) and the camera section shrunk by about 1/3. And our local grocery / other store which always had a fairly good sized camera section completely eliminated it. The whole section was replaced with a display of internet connected home security and monitoring devices.

I think it will be a very tough sell to get retailers to add another brand to a category they are shrinking.
