If jatrax bought the 85 soft then he's serious about his -F collection, mine is somewhat smaller, but it includes most of the major hits

Nah, If I was serious I would have bought the 250-600 that was for sale here a while back.

But this thread did make me realize I was missing an UWA and take a good hard look at my lens lineup for FF. So I found a FA 20-35 yesterday and it is on it's way to me. I hope that was a good choice. I suspect there will be a new FF UWA but not sure I will be able to afford it along with the camera and the 24-70.

So you were the one who bought it then...I saw that listing thought the starting bid was a little high for me but still a very good value. Hope you got an awesome copy, when they go up in price by two-three fold in the near future and people pester you with offers, try to remember me.

I thought it a bit higher than I wanted but the last 2 or 3 I saw all went for even more so I grabbed it. It looks good but I'm really hoping it will be a good copy. Seems to be varying opinions on that lens. Here it gets good marks but on some other forums it is completely trashed. Guess we will see.

I noticed that three FA 20-35mm sold these past 10 days on Ebay, people are gearing up for the FF it seems.

Could be But that is not a common lens and usually sells quickly anyway. I like 20mm on APS-C for landscapes so I'm planning on using it with the k-3 this summer. Then we will see what Ricoh has in the toy box for us

There has been less and less ultra wide FF lenses manufactured for Pentax K mount through the last decade...for obvious reasons. I think that the FA20, FA20-35, FA*24, FA24-90 and FAJ18-35 and the corresponding 3rd party lenses will be among the first Pentax-mount-FF lenses that will be seeing rising prices due to the comming FF body. I'm glad I bought the Sigma 20/1.8 while it was still made, but it feels very empty between that lens and my FA28.

I'm not sure if FA 24-90 and FAJ 18-35 are good for the money on ebay.

FA* 24 would be nice to have, but seems like many items were sold (just after FF camera had been announced).

The real task is to get SMC Pentax-A 15mm F3.5 . This one is even older SMC Pentax 15mm F3 5 Ultra Wide Angle Lens K Mount | eBay , but then again, for such amount???

If you go into manual focusing I'd prefer the 18mm f3.5 over the 15mm's. But I wouldn't say no to neither.

Yes, I think you are right. The prices is already moving up on the used UWA FF's. But it is of course always about the right price. Clearly some "buy now" prices are inflated, and may never sell if you follow them relistment after relistment. The realy interesting is those that goes on auction.

I wonder if many people own a -F 24-50mm f4, I've read mixed reviews about the lens. I realize that the FA 20-35 is the one to get due to its aspherical elements but I'd like to hear your thoughts on the F 24-50.

I believe that this could be a very nice lens... but you can hardly find one online. Few weeks ago there was one on ebay but it was shortly after I had received FA* 28-70 and thought to keep LBA short for a while...

But hey, there's one in A version... http://www.ebay.com/itm/SMC-PENTAX-A-24-50mm-f-4-24-50-f4-/261796951040?pt=L...item3cf4507400

When I was ready to leave Pentax, I am now going to have to stay to get the FF. I was planning in sellin my Takumars, but now, their prices will be too high. I better wait and buy the FF.

My glaring hole as well, and the need to allocate all possible funds to the camera purchase means I will probably be stitching with FA31 for a long time hahaha...
