A historic moment in the annuls of Pentaxia. For one brief moment, the zealotry are content.

Scratch that, looks like the pessimists have already found something to be disappointed, (above).

Oh well, it was a glorious, if brief moment in Pentaxumbria.....

Nonetheless I'll say it, I'm excited. I'm not at all in the market for FF, but am very much looking forward
to seeing this camera shake up the market.

That was my immediate impression, too. The aesthetics are largely a matter of taste, but the apparent size means a nice big, bright viewfinder will accompany it, and that's a characteristic I find very appealing.

They should run with it IMO --> instant brand recognition!

I hope no one dies from all the over excitement LOL

I also hope a lot of the serial complaining subsides at least a little

Time to start saving. I think I may be a two system guy for a little while though until Pentax releases a 135mm fast prime.
Sometime before you leave this earth would be good. Not sure you want to wait that long. Even Canon can't seem to get their long-rumored replacement out.

What do you have now, Sony or Canon? If you need AF, there's no replacement for the Sony 135/1.8, though the Canon's quite good.

If you don't really need the aperture speed then the FA135/2.8 is great, unless PF drives you crazy (doesn't bother me much). And it's small. And it's cheap. And it focuses quickly. And people will think it's a kit lens, so you can take it most places.

I think the main thing they are trying to figure out now is how many different colors to release it in. I'm sure everything is probably pretty well settled.

Judging from the photo of the new camera, I am sure it is the FA31 or may be an updated version (even better). Hmmm, I am all set now, my 3 amigos finally get to fit on the camera that was designed for. Time to save money for it.... perhaps this time next year at an attractive price point? Can't wait..

I have a 6D with the 135L. I don't think I could ever get rid of that lens, it definitely has the pixie dust (although IS would be a very welcome addition).
But i definitely want this Pentax to mate with the 31 and 77mm.
