If you fit it into Pentax's scheme of naming cameras it will be either K40 or K6.

K-FF

That's exactly what it is and all it needs to say for the moment. Later, when other models enter above and below,
they can get names like K-100F, K-30F, K5F, etc.

You mean it isn't random?

I would expect a new letter but that's just a guess.

K-1 or K-2 IMO. Maybe K-F1 but that would be kind of cheesy.

I'm going to bet on an MZ-D naming scheme.

I'm betting it'll be something different to set it apart from the cropped sensor names.

Maybe an "L" model line or something like they have done with the 645D/Z and name it the 35D.

Then I could put it on my 3 Legged Thing Frank Tripod. I would be mounting Frank on Frank. A bit niche I admit, but it takes all sorts

Late last year I was told 36mp and "Spotmatic" (seriously!) but we are a long way from the centre of things. In any case nowadays the name is just screen printed on, so doesn't need to be finalised until late in the process unlike the stamped metal top plates on the old metal bodied cameras. Even then things can change - the 6x7 was supposed to be chrome and black like the Spotmatics but was changed at the last minute to be all black. Too late to change the battery holder which stayed chrome and black and too late to change the first brochures and manual which showed a chrome and black body.
