With Pentax fuzzy logic I will go for: MD +
This combines ME, MX and the D from some of the digital cameras.
Instead of +, you can pic a number (and why not 42 )

I think we will see a new naming scheme since they are running out of K numbers since we are down to #3.

So going with the F1 and they will go up from there.. Or maybe F100 and each major release will be an increment and each smaller update (K5II, K5IIs) would be an 20, 40, etc..

Or maybe PX1 pulling the Pentax Name in there (kinda)

I think it will be the K-F1, in line with the K-S1 and the Q-S1, initial letter being lens format. I am thinking that the K-Wifi/Articulated might be the K-M1 for the midsize/midlevel model. Just think that Pentax changed the model numbering to S1 for a reason so they must be looking for uniformity amongst models.

Just a guess.

I'll bet on K-2, K-1 sounds too close to K-01 to me. But honestly I would really like something like LX-1!
I think the reason they put the "0" in k-01 was specifically to someday have a K-1 full frame

If Pentax comes out with something basic but sturdy, full frame, maybe retro to substitute a K1000, for entry level photographers and pair it with the new FF body (KLX or LXD), aperture and speed controls on the grip, it will probably have the success of the K1000 film camera. Many film photographers had the K1000 body as a back up body, just in case... The only one thing that the Film K1000 lacked was a dof preview button. That could be the Pentax KD1000☺In fact, that could easily become the most recommended (by friends and teachers) body for entry level photography students and used as a back-up body for advanced and pro's.

K-FF

That's exactly what it is and all it needs to say for the moment. Later, when other models enter above and below,
they can get names like K-100F, K-30F, K5F, etc.
Totally agree it's the first Full Frame so start at the beginning at K-FF.👍

Well the LX was for the 60th anniversary (Roman Numerals) so the 100th would be C. "The Pentax C" doesn't do anything for me.

I would go for LX-1000
That way they can bring out 999 newer models before having to change the prefix on the model # ;-)
The LX harkens back to last time Pentax put out a true "Pro" level (d)slr body
... before the flaming starts - I agree that the K3 will give any C or N or S body a run for its money! But they all seem to be advertised as either advances consumer or Pro-sumer bodies.
