I will first test it out with my old Pentax-M 50mm f/1.4! I would finally like to see the result of it using an actual full frame digital Pentax...

And to test it with a modern lens, I'm going to try it out with my Pentax DA 40mm f2.8 XS.
I just hope the full frame camera won't automatically turn on its crop mode when you snap on a DA lens...
This lens covers a full fram image circle, and that would be a super compact full frame set up!

It will be the Carl Zeiss 1,4 50mm Planar, set to an aperture of 5.6

I am lucky to have access to some other lenses withr FF coverage, too, but this one has the privilege to be the very first

I would test one of my Ricoh SLR lens on this bad boy, I was fond of my 135mm manual lens.

I would definitely, at least for a few weeks, maybe months, use my 50mm 1.4. That was my walk-around lens in the 60s and 70s. I want to get that good old feeling back.

My photo habits have changed a lot since then.... I mostly do birding with my 55-300 zoom.

That said.... I am awfully tempted by the 18-135mm

The very first lens I would mount on the new Pentax FF DSLR would be the SMC FA43 Limited f1.9; to see the world through the "true-normal" (*) member of the FA Limited trio, as planned and designed by Jun Hirakawa.

(*) The diagonal of a FF sensor 36mm x 24mm is 43mm.

First lens

Wow ... this is tough ... my gut reaction was the FA* 24mm but upon further review perhaps the FA 20mm ... or maybe the FA 31mm ... definitely a wide angle lens.

For me it would also be the FA 50/1.4 followed by the FA limiters. For birding I suspect the K3 will still be my best friend.

FA43 f/1.9 Limited and go street shooting for a couple of days. Then the FA77 f/1.8 Limited and find some faces. Lastly the A50 f/1.2...

Possibilities:

FA 43. I'd like to see this lens with its original field of view.

Samyang 14. My widest FF lens, to experience the maximum field of view.

Sears 135/2.8. This is my smoothest focusing manual lens and will be great with the larger viewfinder. My copy is surprisingly sharp and contrasty for such cheap, old glass.

Whatever new normal-wide zoom lens gets released with the FF body. Ricoh announced the 2 long zooms, but they must have a wider FF zoom on the way. If I buy the Pentax FF it would likely be bundled with this lens.

I would start with my M50/4 Macro and do some resolution testing with that huge sensor.
