That is a great lens.. i hope that Sigma release the K mount in the near future for the 50mm too. I will have to try the 30mm ART, that is not for FF BUT, according to Canikons that have use this lens on full frame it works really nice.. almost none vignetting.
About the Sigma 50mm Art... It's probably awesome but for now I'll stick to the good old 50mm 1.7 I got together with an ME Super.
I was pretty much astonished when I saw the amount of detail this old gem rendered when I used it on my K3!

Cheers,
kpl

Gee, there's a lot of sentiment brought on by the good news! :-)

I would put on the SMC 135mm A* f1.8 that I stumbled on yesterday in a shop (the day of the FF announcement). And I would take a photo of my wife and son walking down a country lane, wide open, in early morning light like we had to today in Cheshire, England.
Oh, I wish I could stumble like that! Would be worth a few scuff marks in the face! Might one humbly ask how much you paid for it?

I love the diversity of lenses we've chosen. I wonder if Pentax has a D FA* 24-70 f/2.8 in the works to compliment the 70-200? I bet the A*, F*, and FA* lens prices are going to go through the roof!

Great lenses! i think this thread shows just much good glass is out there for Pentax already.

I tried to tally up the count for all the lenses mentioned - just for fun. Hopefully I got it right. Here is the top 4.

8 : FA 43mm
7 : FA 31mm
6 : FA 77mm
3 : FA* 85mm

I wonder if the FA 43mm Limited will see a spike in market value?

There were 10 lenses mentioned twice. These would be tied for 5th.

2 : FA* 24mm
2 : SMCP-K 50mm f/1.2
2 : FA 50mm f/1.4
2 : DA* 55mm
2 : Sigma 35mm Art
2 : Takumar 50mm f/1.4
2 : K 55mm f/1.8
2 : Tamron 70-200mm
2 : A 50mm f/1.2
2 : M 50mm f/1.7

I'll update the list every so often.

Well, it was one of those situations where I woke up to read the announcement of the FF and I thought 'If I could have one more prime in addition to my 31mm, 50mm and 77mm what focal length/aperture would I have?'. I thought a 135mm f1.8. At that point I had no idea such a Pentax lenses existed. Later that day I was in London and popped into a backstreet 2nd hand shop and looked in the Pentax cabinet and there it was, just short of £800/€1,1000. I make a quick inspection-it was in mint condition. I stepped outside, did a quick search on reviews etc. and discovered it was ultra-rare, ultra-good and ultra-expensive for a 1980s manual lens. I realised this was my one chance to own it before it was snapped up so despite really not being able to afford it, I put it on my credit card!

I will do a review at some point but in brief, it's an excellent lens. It's possible to get excellent resolution and sharpness at f2 and of course, lovely background separation and bokeh even on my K-5 but you have to be careful with purple fringing. I'll see how it performs on the forthcoming FF and decide whether I need to keep it. If not, I will sell it on this forum.

Man, looking at those lenses, there's so much good photography waiting to happen (explode?!) with the coming of that Pentax FF - which is not to say that it's not already happening all over in Pentaxland!

I know, right!?

Why release new lenses when there are so many good ones out there now? Ricoh will have to understand the competition of legacy glass when they start thinking about new releases.

My 100mm Macro would certainly be nice on a FF. Right now I think that lens is a bit too long(150mm) for some types of Macro work.

I have the FA version. With FF, that (28mm) should be wide enough for most occasion
