The Best Picture of the New Pentax FF

Since I can't adequately explain how I feel about this new camera, I thought I might do an homage to the joy a child feels when they get something they desperately wanted and were denied for so long.

The simple joy.

That's not a full frame, that's a medium format.

It's also an homage to Ricoh's fail with the KS-1 and "lady hands".

A double-homage!

That is funny though.
Although by itself and with only shoes in it, it is one of my favourite photographs of all time.

Does this mean you're getting a couple of them?

They should just use that as their advertisement!
Its much better than those black gradient posters where you can only see the rim of the lens.

So i dont mean to troll or anything but i don't quite understand the level of excitement. (And believe me, i want to be excited. I for one am buying one the moment its released) But, they officially announced they are working on a FF. This is such a marginal step compared to what we already knew. The product doesn't even have a release date and the prototype picture is done w a 3d printer.... this could just as easily get scrapped like it did 10 years ago. or am i missing something?

Yes its all a little silly. BUT. Its the first official word in what, 15years that they are actually at least thinking about making one. :P So yes, but I'm with you. Until it's on Special in my local camera store I don't think I'll be able to believe it either :P

The new FF lenses are a pretty good indication of some commitment.

I think you've forgotten that prior FF "announcements" were informal statements during interviews saying they were thinking about FF, plus a Facebook hint. Yesterday was the first time Ricoh Pentax officially committed to FF.

Scrapping the project is possible but it would be a public failure now. They wouldn't have committed if major engineering or marketing issues remained. It's safe to assume the sensor, processor, and AF module are already selected for the new camera.
