I for one am buying one the moment its released) But, they officially announced they are working on a FF. This is such a marginal step compared to what we already knew. The product doesn't even have a release date and the prototype picture is done w a 3d printer.... this could just as easily get scrapped like it did 10 years ago. or am i missing something?
I think you've forgotten that prior FF "announcements" were informal statements during interviews saying they were thinking about FF, plus a Facebook hint. Yesterday was the first time Ricoh Pentax officially committed to FF.
Scrapping the project is possible but it would be a public failure now. They wouldn't have committed if major engineering or marketing issues remained. It's safe to assume the sensor, processor, and AF module are already selected for the new camera.
