Complete speculation IMO. I don't think they would ever cripple the mount without changing it entirely.

I'm hoping (not that I could afford it) that the FF camera will have a de-crippled K-mount, thereby allowing Av and metered manual modes with pre-A lenses. That would be an old-lens-fancier's wet dream.

This would be a monumentally stupid move for Pentax to ever abandon the K mount. Ever. If they even dream of changing the mount to where I can't use the lenses I have, they will be dead to me forever. But I don't think they would be that stupid.

Pentax lens support serial digital data over the lens contacts 'digital info' pin the rest are legacy to define aperture.

The protocol is secret but can obviously support a large amount of communication hence why AF buttons and af zone presets have appeared on the new 150-450 the protocol isn't static but is not flouted on 'sales blurb' hence is not defined as any monicker.

Similarly GPS addon extended p-ttl data transference but no-one wanted to know the new name for the hot shoe mount

OK I know that, it's old school! What I meant was that they cannot reorder the pin's functions on the mount!

And the 18-135, 18-270, 16-85, 20-40, 55/1.4, & 560.

The last lenses Pentax released that had screw AF were the 35/2.4, 50/1.8 and 40/2.8 XS.
Except of course the refresh of late 2013 including DA15, DA21, DA35, DA40, DA70 and DA55-300 to convert them into "HD" version.

Few (if any) advantages gained and a lot to lose if Ricoh decided to drop support of screw drive lenses; don't think that it will happen.

Not new lenses. The 55-300 is comes the closest to a definition of new lens because it also got WR. The rest just got HD, rounded aperture blades, and a red ring.

Open Pentax SLR Talk Forum, expand all Posts and comments and scroll to read every asahi man Reply.

Alternatively, search the Pentax SLR Forum for 'asahi man' and read all the Posts and Replies to get the full meaning. It's tedious, but it's there

I don't see any mention of "crippled KAF2 mount".

To me that's impossible rather sucidal for PENTAX. Their biggest possible customer base for FF is folks who already have FA lenses, it doesn't make business sense to leave them out...
