What do you think the Pentax FF kit lens will be?

Will they start reproducing something from the film days, or are we going to get a new 28-80ish plastic fantastic of some sort?

I don't think Pentax has ever really made a *bad* kit lens exactly. I have an old FA28-90 and just picked up an F35-70 and both are respectable for what they are (cheap, used kit lenses...).

If they did make a kit lens per say to put with it, which I doubt they do, I would hope it's the 24-70 range 1:2.8 keep dreaming I know.

It should be a brand new D FA 24 - 70 f2.8 .. the question here is if it is going to be ment to compete with the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM that is around $2000.. or if is going to be something more affortable like around $1200 +/-

I would guess a 24-105 F4. Pretty standard stuff for a FF.

Could also be a 24-80 if Pentax wants to make it cheaper.

D-FA 50mm f1.8 if they revise the naming system (maybe a premium body). Why not buck the trend.

I don't think they will rush into building tons of lenses at first, I think they know there is a ton of glass available to anyone who purchases the full frame.

There will still be the people who are going to want to buy their first DSLR, and as such a kit lens is almost going to be a requirement.

Why throw customers to CaNikon because you don't have a cheap (or not so cheap) piece of glass stuck to the camera when you buy the thing?

Kit lens should be the FA43 f/1.9, normal FOV or if they wanted to target the Nikon Df sell it with a Limited bodied A50 f/1.2 WR Aerobrite II HD and bundle it with a split prism viewfinder, market it as 'for the connoisseur' or 'for the purest photographer!' nice little box set, leather / suede strap and price it at $5,000. Loads of Internet commentry because of the sheer audacity of this marketing move and enough sales because it is reassuringly expensive

Kit lens <slap / slap> we are discussing a kit lens.

My first Pentax FF came with a 55mm ƒ1.7 if memory serves me well.
My old 35-80 was obviously a kit at some point....

A nice slow 24-105 would be my preference. A modern design, with good CA control to limit purple fringing.

Depends on how or what the kit is marketed at surely? To go the standard route something like a D-FA17-70 f/4.5-5.6 DC WR or D-FA24-85 f/4.5-5.6 DC WR would make sense. Will Pentax go with 3 lines lines to match their APS-C zoom lineup? Variable aperture kit, Mid range f/4 and high end *star line with f/2.8?

That would be excellent, like Canon. A 17-70 f2.8 on APS-C equivalent. Maybe they could re-badge the very nice Sigma 24-105 f4.
