Please meet the FF camera from Pentax

You all know already how it will look from that 3D printing.
Now it's time to show some innards. From the drawings we can see that the top LCD is inclined to the rear. That reminds me the MZ-S !

The top LCD is numbered 30 on the drawing.

Where on earth did you find this? Any chance of getting the descriptions for the numbers?

They will get their rubber-stamped patent too. Here is the criteria that the US patent office is suppose to go by for granting a patent.

QuoteQuote:
A patent is a grant of exclusive rights in an invention. To be patentable in most jurisdictions, including Canada and the United States, an invention must be useful and proper subject matter. In addition, it must be novel and inventive. An invention is considered to be novel if it was not previously disclosed or known to the public anywhere in the world. An invention is inventive if it would not be obvious to an average person working in the field to which the invention relates, taking into consideration the state of the art on the day you file your patent application (and in some cases on the date of invention).

So, give 100 teams of Mechanical and Electrical Engineers the task of figuring out a cam drive control mechanism...bla, bla... and I bet 99 out 100 will solve the problem. Were I work, at a big corporation, they are on a rampage having their employees apply for patents. And so many are issued for simple things. It's pretty sad, really.

I think the trend these days is for untrained civil servants to grant a lot of applications quickly and let the courts sort out the messes. :-)

That looks an awful lot like the K-3 to me.

Strangest thing here is publication date. Just 1 week ago, so this is not related to the K3. I don't know how this works, but I guess if the patent is related to the new FF body, then its too soon to expect real production of related new FF body. I would believe that a patent published today, is either a marketing blockage towards competition or a product to be disclosed at least 2-3 years down the road.

Maybe a future improved FF body to replace the one being presented today at CP+?

It's the file date that matters in patents. The first file date (foreign) is July 30, 2013 about 18 months ago. So they've been probably working on this for 2 or more year.
