Speculate: what's the extra button for?

Assuming the 3D printed mock-up just didn't switch the PC port with the flash pop-up button:

Does it cycle through various viewfinder options? Crop mode? What's the best wildest guess?

I see 3 buttons and the PC sync cap so I still think it will be a flash, which would mean that the uppermost button is for flash, then Raw/FX and then AF mode. As this is considered an enthusiast FF camera, not a pro, it will have an onboard flash.

You asked for a wild guess

SR on/off? That is one button I miss. The RAW/FX one is useless for me on my K-5.

I also believe it is a flash release button, with the flash hidden behind the nameplate and raised via mechanical arm like on Q series.

Or perhaps the name plate itself pivots out and up to reveal the flash behind it.
There doesn't seem to be another reason for that ledge in front of the prism does there?

Without a sync port or built in wi-fi the series II flashes need optical wireless trigger from the camera.

One thing I notice is that there is no jack for headphones just as the K-3 has. I still think that the camera we see now really is a 3D plastic mock up and we will see a few changes between now and when it is released.

It activates the Canikon speech, "no it isn't a Canon/nikon, yes it it's ff, no I don't want to know why I should have bought a different brand, yes I'm serious..."

Obviously for juicing a very small lemon. Presumably to go with a mini cocktail dispenser built into the pentaprism hump.

It activates the external flash. It's not built-in to the camera, but a remote drone with a wireless flash that responds to voice commands, a truly killer feature. Only downside is it has to travel to you from Ricoh HQ where it's charging station is, so press it a week or two in advance of your photo shoot. They're also limited in number of drones so there may be extra wait times when the camera is first released. Ricoh will increase it's flash-drone supply as Vespene gas becomes available.

I think it will be the same as the K-3. just swapped from PC sync to the flash button. The numbers are there so it will most likely be the same as the K-3 when released.

We'd be dead from the drone rush before any of this happens

Hopefully it's a customizable function button, but maybe the default function will be to control the crop mode.
