Just a thought...
Olympus' E-M5ii is showing impressive results with its sensor shift technology on a relatively low-res sensor, and, if they can (potentially) achieve high-res results in-hand (vs. on a tripod) in a future firmware release that would be particularly exciting! Of course, I'd assume there would be caveats like limited shutter speeds.
Considering that Pentax already has the capability to simulate an anti-aliasing filter via micro-vibrations, I'd be incredibly excited if they utilized a lower-resolution full-frame sensor (say 12mp in the A7s) with the option to sensor-shift to achieve near 50MP photos. We'd get the best of many worlds:
- Light Sensitivity of the A7s
- High-resolution / detail when we need it
- AA filter when we need it
