asahi man in the DPR Pentax forum has just provided some interesting clues about the latest specs.

Looks like 24MP is certainly out, so my bet is on 36MP now. I like the 'little Tank, very massive and strong' description, which implies better than K-3/D810 build quality, as asahi man had suggested in previous DPR posts. And clearly more zooms and primes are on the way too. Maybe even a new 300 f2.8:

And i can tell you,the 24mp Sony is complete out of the game.

It was only an early fully project in a K-3 style body, but only with firmware out of the body and only the first study.

The current camera is a little Tank, very massive and strong, more than K-3.

Alsowe will see 2 more ff zooms till autumn.

Next year is a primetime for very very nice primes.....be sure

Next month i will see the new internal maps, can not give 100% informations...but for sure a big wink

I hope the 2.8 300project is still active

Best regards

A new FF, two more d-fa zooms coming up this year, new primes next year and some in development, maybe a 200mm macro who knows. This is a truly great time to be(come) a Pentaxian

So far we get two pages of smart ass answers...
The FF announcement basically said that DA lenses are obsolete - expect to be used in crippled mode. FA lenses are outdated anyways. Knowing that the FF Pentax is coming means that you need new lenses and a new camera to enter FF land at some point in the far future. No reasons mentioned why you should wait for Pentax.

I expect DA lenses to be at least as useful as on my K-5IIs.

A mag-alloy water resistant body would be a pretty good guess.

How else could they be used? I don't think they were designed to cover the FF image circle. Certainly not the ones designed for APS-C, some of the ones that used older designs might (or might not) work.

A cropped mode is not the same as a crippled mode. And of course, Pentax/Ricoh will continue to make and sell APS-C cameras and lenses, obsoleting nothing.

Just confused what @Zapp is trying to say. I don't understand what "DA lenses are obsolete" means? They are APS-C lens so they still work on APS-C, right? Maybe I am missing something. Or maybe it is a translation issue.
