Getting Ready for Ful Frame!

So this week I made the decision that unless the new Pentax FF is an obvious dog, or unless it does something that I find unacceptable, assuming it's a solid evolution of the K3 feature set with the FF sensor and some advances, I am getting it.

So I'm looking at my lenses to see what I've got to start out with, and found myself rather surprised:

Primes:
FA 35mm f/2
FA 50mm f/1.4
FA 31mm Ltd

Zooms
FA 28-90mm f.3.5-5.6
FA 28-105mm f/4-5.6
FA 80-320mm f/4.5-5.6

A number of manual focus primes and zooms, including my old Vivitar Series 1 70-210mm

Just need the camera now and…oh yeah… a pile of money…

Lucky you !!
I have the Helios 58mm and the FA 31mm and I'm sure Pentax FF will not disappoint me I'm very optimist so I'm saving now and wait for the specs !
If I won a lotto or something I'd get the FA77 before the FF released, tried that lens and love it ^^

I think you have a FA 24-90 or a FA 28-80.... don't recall seeing a FA 28-90.... BTW, the FA 24-90 is a pretty good lens.

I'm okay with lenses too. With FA31mm, DA*55mm, FA*85mm and DA*300mm I can do about anything I would want with a FF.

For now it's just a plastic brick made with a 3D printer....shouldn't be to heavy.

Nice!
Me too! Almost all of my lenses are for full frame...
My Pentax Lenses:
• FA 28-200mm f/3.8-5.6
• FA J 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6
• A 35-105mm f/3.5
• A 70-210mm f/4
• A 28mm f/2.8
• M 50mm f/1.4
• M 85mm f/2
• K 135mm f/2.5
• DA-XS 40mm f/2.8 (Excited to use this on FF Pentax!)

My Non-Pentax Lenses:
• Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8
• Tokina 28-70mm f/2.6-2.8

But after I have a FF Pentax, I want to invest on the new Pentax D FA* 70-200mm f/2.8 and the upcoming Pentax lenses, the 24-70mm and 15-30mm...

How do I get ready for the Full Frame
I Repeat, "do not buy a Full Frame camera" while counting on a rosary.... it's kind of healing...
I wonder if it would feel more authentic if I had some kind of monk's garb, or a robe like the Dalai Lama.

Well, I've been preparing since 2005. Kept all my film era lenses, just bought two DA-lenses to fill a gap (or rather, to get something wide. DA16-45 as a kit lens with the DS, DA14 mm for interiors) The 28mm shift lens have been waiting in the cupboard for years. It's a fun lens, but it's actually too long for APS-c. The FA 20mm will finally be what it was made for. And... (drumroll) today I closed a deal over the phone for an A 15mm! Now I'm set! (Of course, an FA* 200mm Macro wouldn't be in the way...)

I didn't even find out I was shooting APS-c until 2007. How could I prepare for something i thought I was using... big difference my derriere...

I just bought my *ist DS, (for about $1800) snapped a few zoom lenses on it and started shooting. Crop factor? I didn't need no stinkin crop factor.

Does crap factor even matter if you're shooting a zoom?

As long as your zoom is wide enough, you'll never even notice.

I'm so used to using my mixed collection of old and new FF compatible lenses on crop that it will be very interesting to discover what sort of personality they betray when used on an actual FF Pentax. Hopefully no rude surprises await.
