How much would you pay for the FF body only?

Assuming Ricoh releases the full frame using the 36mp Sony sensor with improved DR, noise, and ISO range, selectable AA filter like the K3, dual card slots, crop mode enabled, ~7fps, WR, and the features we have on the K3 what would you be willing to pay for the body only? Not with the kit lens offerings, just the body and the normal stuff that comes with the body. After voting say what your reasons are for choosing what you did if you don't min, and even say the exact target price you're looking for. Thanks.

I'd pay $2400-2900, this is how much I value the new FF although we hardly know anything about it.

This should be a multiple choices pool.

Easy, since the sensor has approx 2x the area of the K-3, I'd not pay more that 2 x K-3 price = $1650, and it is well paid since the FF frame will never have as much as two times the same cost as the K-3. We have to keep in mind that we also have to buy full frame lenses since most of the lenses we already have do not cover the FF image circle (thank you Pentax). Not ready to spend $7000 on a camera+lenses system, at the end of the day, it's for making photos.

The K3 had an MSRP of $1299 for body-only when it came out, you need to adjust your 2X estimation accordingly.

Keep in mind people we're talking about fresh-out-of-the-factory prices, not used, refurbished or factoring any deprecations to come.

I'm going to stop beating my head against a wall trying to convince people of the business logic of how impossible it is to release the camera as everyone is hoping it to be spec'd out as a professional grade FF in the same price range as an entry level D610.

If you guys were saying, 24mp, 1/4000" shutter, SR...etc etc I could believe $2000. But for a 36mp sensor with the internal parts required to handle it.... it wont be under $2500. Probably not even under $2700.

if Nikon and Canon had the resources to price the D810/5DMKIII at $2200 in the hopes of more market share...don't you think they would?

But the K-3 is roughly 1 1/2 years old. How much was it released and use your math to 2X, That will probably be what the FF will be.

The real question is, how much would Pentax pay me to use their FF? I don't need no stinkin' FF.

K3 MSRP $1299 x 2 = $2598.....done!

Didn't we do this once already? And we still don't have the zero option. Guess that would be less than $1800.

I'm ready to buy pixels per Mega unit. So, if the K-3 was $1300, I'd pay $1300/24 = $54/Mpix => $1950 for the Full Frame.

Since not everybody agree on the same price, and the role of marketing is to listen to what customers want , I suggest that Ricoh offers that customers pay what they want.
In addition I'd like that Ricoh propose a camera exchange, lets say , they get our K-5 or K-3 back and we get a discount accordingly. You give back you old gear and get a discount for the new gear.

Why don't you start peeling sealing gaskets while you're at it, superglue the tilting LCD, maybe you can go down to $1799 that way...
Megaixels don't come in a leather pouch for people to sprinkles around, there's lots of expensive tech that comes with the FF sensor.

If I give them back my K-3, their can reuse the display, the D-LI90 battery, the button and the Ricoh logo at the back of the cam, so that I can get the FF cheaper.

I wonder if it will have the Ricoh name on the back? They didn't add it to the S1 and S2, maybe they realize that Pentax is more marketable than Ricoh when it comes to cameras and they will leave it out from now on.
