I don't know if anyone has noticed, but they updated the lens roadmap! The D FA 28-105 has been changed to D FA 24-120!! Very cool! IMO the perfect zoom! This is from what I can tell.. I wish they labeled them like they did in the past.
http://www.ricoh-imaging.co.jp/japan/products/lens/images/K_Mount_Lens.pdf

Here is the older one that shows 28-105..
https://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/10-pentax-slr-lens-discussion/237952-pent...ml#post3153137

Edit: The Roadmap hasn't changed.. but depending on what PDF viewer you use the lines cut off in different spots. I use the Firefox browser's PDF viewer and it shows the line at around 24-120mm. This is what I see..

A 24-120mm F4 would be the perfect premium kit lens. They might also release a budget lens alongside it.

Same here: If you open the PDF-file in the browser, the "D FA standard zoom" looks like a 24-120mm and the line for the "D FA large diameter standard zoom" extends to 22mm! But when you download the PDF and open it with the Adobe reader, everything looks like always (28-105 and 24-70).
This really got me all confused on why no one could see what I'm seeing.. So the question is.. believe Adobe or in browser viewer? I think the 24-120 range makes more sense than the 28-105. Like I said in the OP.. I wish they labeled them like they did in the past.

Adobe Acrobat Reader.

The browser plugin (actually just the Acrobat Reader running within the browser window) is a little buggy and what you are seeing is a scaling failure of the the fade bar element relative to the background image. I turned off the browser plug-in some time ago and could not be happier. The file loads faster opens with less drama and more predictable display. You also have full access to the reader's functionality, something that the plug-in does not provide.

Believe Adobe.
I'll point out that the roadmap is "very abstract, vague" (this was said in the IR's interview).

I think you are making way to much of the roadmap, it doesn't have exacts, look at the roadmap before the D FA 150-450mm was announced, if you can get 150-450 out of that, well...

So there might be hope for 24-120mm. 24-135 or 24-150 would be cool also.

I would expect a D-FA* 24-70 F/2.8 & a 24-120mm F/4 kit lens to be released with the K-1 (or whatever it will be called).

D-FA* 24-70mm F/2.8
D-FA* 70-200mm F/2.8

D-FA 150-450mm 4.5-5.6
D-FA 24-120mm F/4 (Typical FF Kit lens)

These 4 cover your basic FF zooms with only the 16-35mm F/4 being a must have premium zoom.

I think for sure it will at least start at 24mm. A 24-150mm would be a good companion lens for the 150-450mm.

So my guess is one of these..

24-105, 24-120, 24-135, or 24-150.

Does Ricoh/Pentax rebadge lenses? This new Tamron looks like a match to the wide zoom on the roadmap.

ETA: Did a Google search and someone had the same thought..

24-120 f4 makes a lot of sense for a lens that can do a bit of everything. There are reasons why Canon and Nikon have similar lenses like that. Ricoh doesn't have to be a copycat but they do need tools that photographers will buy.
