I'm a day late, but here's your April First headline:

Ricoh Discontinues Pentax DSLR Camera Line

And the storyline:

Ricoh announced today that, effective immediately, it will cease production and sales of it's Pentax branded lineup of DSLR cameras and lenses. Ricoh's CEO issued the following brief statement:

"Earlier this year we announced a new, full frame DSLR. Unfortunately, it appears we made the announcement too soon, as this camera will not reach the market until the end of this year. Since making this announcement, however, we have not sold a single APS-C camera or lens. With such a devastating revenue loss, we simply can't continue operating this business line."
No, no, this is the 2nd of April, so we must take this seriously. Hands up who has bought any crop gear since the FF announcement.

Imagine how big of a splash a Pentax FF would have made in 2012!
In September 2012 the first Canikon budget FF models were released, so the splash would have only been noticeable before that date, but only provided Pentax would have managed to offer their FF model at a very reasonable price.

A release in 2015 (which is announced, but hasn't happened yet) is so too late, it is hard to decide to where to begin. I think it is still possible for the FF line to become a hit in the long run, but such a success will have to be much more hard earned than it would have been in 2011, or so.
