Top 3 DFA Primes Wishlist

Not speculating... Wishing.

New DFA primes have got to be at some stage of development. I'm daydreaming about new Limiteds and Stars. And I'm sure I'm not the only one!

My Top 3 (in order):

1. DFA Limited 43mm F1.4 WR
Haven't bought the current version but if I'm to get the new FF I will immediately need a field of view equivalent for the 31 I love and use so much.

2. DFA Limited 21mm F2 WR
Sharp, wide, and fast! Please!

3. DFA Limited 135 F1.8 WR
Compact tele with creamy bokeh. Roughly fill the spot of the sweet 77.

I'd be keenly interested in a DFA* 200mm F2.8 AW as well but I would shoot with the DFA Limited WRs above a lot more. I'm counting on them all being laden with the same enchanting pixie dust of their FA Limited brethren. Not too particular about the maximum aperture but I'm really hoping that they'll be weather resistant.

What sexy new Pentax primes are you lusting after?

DFA 600 mm (or 800 mm?)... that's all. Otherwise I have all what I need (or much more).

A 135mm f/1.8 cannot really be compact... At the absolute smallest, you're looking at a 77mm filter for that one. Now, if you're willing to accept 2.8, then they might be able to get it down to 52mm if they have a bunch of magicians working for them.

DFA 85mm f1.4

DFA 50mm f1.4

DFA 200mm f2.0

That would be nice

I'd save up for an UWA like an updated FA 20mm or something like that.

True. I was thinking along the size of the DFA 100mm WR but I realize that's 2.8. Not sure which I'd rather have, compact or really fast.

If you want the full-frame Limiteds to be WR, they won't be nearly as small. Pentax should just release some sealed D FA* primes with fast F1.4 apertures since such lenses are missing in the lineup to begin with.

From what Pentax has shown us with the DFA 100mm macro WR, DA Limited 20-40mm WR, and DA 18-50mm WR RE, I would expect that adding weather seals wouldn't result in that much of a size compromise.

Don't mess with the limiteds please. They are fine just the way they are.
But a DFA*24/2 and a DFA*85/1.4 would be welcome. And a redesigned DFA14/2.8 if possible.

What would really do my head in is if iconic lenses like the 31,43 and 77 were not full frame compatible with shake reduction on, or "fully on". If this was the case, then Ricoh would do good business with a new line of DFA's that were.

If I was Ricoh I'd sort of be happy if the old FA's weren't FF compatible with SR.....certainly would help new lens sales....I'd also have hinted at this in the lead up to the FF release......(which they have...haven't they?).

I expect the new FF to service 3 lens sub groups.....APSC, Legacy FF (both of these with some compromises) and new DFA Lenses......

Hard to argue with that. However, of the FA Ltds, I feel that the 43 is the one to most likely get a refresh first. Whether it does or doesn't, I imagine a 50mm-ish DFA lens will be released along with the full frame K. Just seems like a must.
