DFA 20 or 24 f2.8 WR - could redesign the FA24f2
update on the 31/43/77

I don't need a completely WR lens but at least put the rubber gasket to protect the camera on $1000 lenses.

Could having 9 circular blades possibly alter the nature of the 43's bokeh? Personally I'm not sure I might like that - the bokeh of the current 43 is unique, possessing a certain texture and special quality about it.
I'm sure it would alter the look but I think it could potentially be an improvement. From what I've seen, sometimes the 43's bokeh is a bit busy for my tastes. It's the main reason I haven't pulled the trigger on it. That said, of the current normal lenses it's my favorite and I might still end up getting one.

When the DA 15 got the HD refresh, the switch to circular blades took away from those great starbursts it's so well known for. Makes me wonder if a Frankenstein 15 could be made that has the new HD coatings but with the old straight blades.

I'm with KDAFA here. The FA43 may have some flaws, warts and all, but I like LOVE it just the way it is. They may add quickshift and WR to it, but I think that it'll be blasphemous to alter the rendering.

Any new DFA version of FA lenses is going to render differently as they will undoubtedly get new coatings. I, for one, will be happy to see purple fringing and flare minimized. As long as the current FA Limiteds aren't discontinued, it'll all be copacetic.

What will really make me happy to see in any new DFA offerings is an aperture ring. If that is absent, it'll be an even stronger indication that we won't ever get a de-crippled K-mount.

What would really do my head in is if iconic lenses like the 31,43 and 77 were not full frame compatible with shake reduction on, or "fully on". If this was the case, then Ricoh would do good business with a new line of DFA's that were.

If I was Ricoh I'd sort of be happy if the old FA's weren't FF compatible with SR.....certainly would help new lens sales....I'd also have hinted at this in the lead up to the FF release......(which they have...haven't they?).

I expect the new FF to service 3 lens sub groups.....APSC, Legacy FF (both of these with some compromises) and new DFA Lenses......
I suspect they will come up with something. A 2% crop function would likely fix any SR issues with older lenses.

This looks good, but I'd add:

20mm f/2.8 (for the small, portable less $ WA prime, equiv to 13mm f/1.8 on aps-c)
200mm f/2 (Nikon's is absolutely incredible)

.
I had the opportunity to fondle the 200 F/2.0 on a d300 before I picked up the D800
People complained about the 50-500 for its weight, wait till they see a 200 F/2

When you look at the competition (Canonikon) those lenses start at $1250 up to over $2000 (ignoring Fish Eye). Maybe if Pentax were to make an F4 Version... The is ofcourse always Samyang/Rokinon/Bower
I have the Samyang catalogue and I've thought about the 14mm f/2.8. About half a kilogram, which is fine. Not expensive.

I forgot that I will probably want an FF Fish Eye. Thanks for reminding me. There are some Sigma Fish Eyes if there isn't a Pentax FF one. But the current Pentax Fish Eye covers the FF field for the longer lengths, although I don't know what the quality will be like on a digital sensor.

Removing the built on sun-hood from the DA 10-17 makes it very usable. The new Tokina version (AT-X 107 NH), which is the same as the DA 10-17, comes standard without that sun hood and is classified as FF compatible.

The AT-X 107 DX is classified as a DX lens, but the AT-X 107 NH is not. To be fair, it's not completely FF for the full zoom range either.

Tokina | Digital Eyes - Visionary technology makes a difference you can see

The AT-X 107 NH only differs from the AT-X 107 DX in that the built-in hood as been removed allowing for a wider image area and more coverage on full-frame sensor (FX) cameras.*

*Full corner to corner image can be achieved on an FX camera between approx. 14.5-17MM depending on the camera model, at 10-14MM there is a semi-circular view.
