I've found that special bokeh "nature" of the 43 to be one creative tool among others in its arsenal, one of great value in helping to craft magical images.
Thanks for the thoughtful comments, KDAFA. I believe you. I've seen many wonderful images captured with the 43. I should just get one for myself to get to know it personally, and understand it as you say, and likely fall in love with it. It's small, sharp, fast, has a great focal length and build, renders colors beautifully, and is priced well. When I said the occasional odd out of focus rendering is the main reason I haven't gotten it, it's pretty much the only hesitation I have, and it's a fairly minor nitpick.
