Classic manual smc lenses that are excellent on the a7r:
M 20 f4
K 28 f3.5
K 35 f3.5
M 35 f2.8
M 50 f1.7
K 55 f1.8
M 85 f1.8
M 100 f4 macro
M 135 f3.5
M 35-70 f2.8-3.5
A 24-50 f4

The stellar performers are the 28 and 85.
My travel combo is the 20, 28 and 35-70.

The 35-70 works really well on the a7r and is very cheap.
The 24-50 is the only 24 that I have found to be sharp at the edges and corners (unlike the k24 f3.5 and m24-35).

Hope this is of some help.
For those intending to buy the Pentax ff, you will have great fun using the old lenses and will be amazed at the image quality and you could save yourself a small fortune!!!!

Sorry for a typo!!
Should be the k85 f1.8.
You will be super surprised.. I have a 24-90.. for some reason, besides the largest aperture and 90mm would be a tiny bit soft, otherwise, it's a stellar lens on film. On Digital 24mm shines..

24mm (Yes corners kinda sucks.. but that's very expected for zoom wide angle anyway?)

90mm

24mm.. Left corner is a bit soft.

So far, erphotoreview seems to be one of the better resource out there for any Pentax lenses tested numerically on FF (A7 or A7r).
K Mount Primes : ERPhotoReview

Thick filter stack of the A7 series aside, its still the best gauge out there (numerically at least) to use as a guide.

2 comments from me on the results presented there :
1. So far it mirrors close enough with the lenses I have
2. Its useful to compare how other brand lenses are performing on the same platform (very often, they just show that the same timeline of lenses perform rather closely in terms of field curvature and/or sharpness over the frame)
