When do you expect the new Full Frame in shops?

So it's time to Express your expectations. Only one answer can be given, but you can always wrote something. It is not about announcements, or about your own purchasing, but about the month that customers can have the new camera in their hands.

What do you think?

I would like to believe 'tomorrow'. But since it seems very troublesome for Pentax to make such a camera, I expect it's debut to be sometime in 2016. Early 2016, at best.

Announced end of September, available in November. Waiting to see what lenses are proposed (beside the DFA70-200 and 150-450). Waiting to see the pricing of the full frame body + lens. Waiting to see practical evaluation of the full frame system against current K-3 system (as the difference in IQ between the D750 and D7200 seems to be marginal).

I've heard "in time for the Christmas rush" for so many products but they rarely seem to make it. Nobody wants to release a product just after Christmas so they will fall into the usual March release for electronics.

I want to add something to what boriscleto said...

for beta testing by the public.

In full:

I expect the new Full Frame in shops when it is ready for beta testing by the public.

Unless you are a determined early adopter I wouldn't recommend buying one until it has been on sale for a year.

The thing is the Pentax FF might not be the product that kills the K-3II super pixel shifting before its own bugs are corrected. Delayed to march 2016, indeed?

typo , no PS bugs , others bugs, addressed/being addressed. Letting more time to K-3II before releasing the FF. That's all I meant.

Ricoh has such a small market share there is no market to protect by delaying something else.

The only K-3II issue I'm aware of is the 'Won't shut off' issue.

The way I see the 'Won't shut off' issue, Pentax received a bad lot from a part supplier, identified the affected cameras by Serial Number, posted a notice, offered a free repair to affected cameras, pre-positioned a supply of parts to Precision so repair turnaround is (apparently now) 2-4 days plus shipping - and accepted return of all affected unsold inventory from their US retailers.

How does that constitute a direct reason to delay the introduction date of the FF?

When the entire system, including the new lenses, the unannounced lenses, the 'surprise' (if PS isn't the surprise), and the FW programming to properly expose (and possibly crop) existing chipped lenses has been fully tested by Pentax engineers - and is ready.

IOW, unless they say otherwise, November, 2015.

Knowing Pentax, there is no telling. They seem to be working on an arbitrary schedule that makes no sense. K3 came out of nowhere so did k3II. My guess is prototype by CES in January and market release some 3-4 months later.

All I know is that they better hurry before more people jump ship to Sony or someone who is offering FF bodies. I hate to see Pentax go by the way of the dodo bird.
