24MP is fine for me ^^ K3 files are big enough to slow down my laptop :|

I think most people would be really happy with a new 24MP sensor, but I doubt we see 24MP. It could end up being a 56MP.

I agree. I'd love it was the exact same as my k3, but covering the 35mm image circle. It's not extra MP I'm looking for, it's the lens behaviour.

I'm unclear about something. With a higher pixel count sensor - when you shoot in lower resolution let's say 14mp on the K3 is there any benefit other than size of the file? Does the downsampling improve noise or anything?

I will buy it very quickly I think. Not because I need it, but because my wife's pushing me to buy a full frame since months....

Why can't I have a wife like that?

About 90% of the forum now want to steal your wife... and the other 10% are women.

I'm hoping to be an early adopter, after the early price drop. But realistically, I'm not going to be able to afford this until they've dropped the price because they've introduced the next model, and they want to clear them out.

@normhead and @UncleVanya : the thing is, I bought the K-5 when it was released, and had problems with the stained sensor.... So I would prefer to wait a bit...
Although I am perfectly aware that my wife is exceptional, and will please her by buying the new FF quickly

Maybe, I will. It definitely depends on what that FF will be like.

I'm stilll happy with my K-5, but...
* I'd very much enjoy a bigger viewfinder where you more clearly see when something is out of focus. (at least as big as the competition and having the right focusing screen)
* Faster and even more reliable AF is quite important for me
Recently tried a D750 and was really happy with both of the above points.
* Not bigger than the competitors (or better: even smaller) would be a big plus for me. There are already lots of bulky and heavy FFs out there.

Other than that, I'm sure that Pentax will deliver.

Camera's are crazy these days. I think some perspective is needed, spend some time with a old film camera, then be happy with what you've got. :P

I am going to wait to the actual product models come out. I am not about to speculate on the type of lens mount because i know better than to bet against company's profit margins.

It is amusing and disturbing to see how all the intrigue hyped promotions turns people into Golum from LOTR... Mine! My own My Precious!
