I'd be ok with an Early Christmas if it came in the form of a Full Frame Pentax! But otherwise - no thanks. After Thanksgiving is my rule.

Not before December 15th. If you didn't make it yourself and you can't get it done by shopping in 9 days it shouldn't be done.

"Full Frame by Pentax2016 Spring Debut", that's from Ricoh/Pentax's new official teaser web page:

I think it is very important für Ricoh to make the big announcement before the holiday season starts. If it is still obscure a lot of people might get another new toy and abandon Pentax Ricoh.

Ricoh seem blind (or indifferent) to this real and present danger.

Better a solid camera released in Spring than a botched launch with bugs in October.

It's been a danger forever. People have always left Pentax to buy an FF from another manufacturer, but at the same time people continue to buy into the Pentax system, getting K-S2s, K3s etc. In half a year some people will have left and got something else, and some people who are currently working with APS-C cameras will be ready to make the jump to the new FF.

There isn't a fixed number of Pentax users who will buy a FF that constantly decreases, rather it's a pool with an outflow (people leaving for other systems) and an inflow (people buying into the Pentax system).

Could be the K-3II debacle affected all manner of thinking.

Well, that's it then. Next spring is when we'll see it. I imagine the K-3ii will also be replaced next year. Bummer, I was hoping for this year.
