I agree with that; however, in this case it is so blatantly phony I don't think anybody could mistake it for reality.
One would certainly think so. Apparently that's not the case.

Moichendizing? What's that?

I wonder what they mean by brand new format - that's definitely the camera they've been growing in a greenhouse - and they call it full frame at the top of the ad

They did actually but decided not to take it into production.

Contax brought out a camera with the same sensor. it failed. It was just too soon, the sensors weren't good enough and too expensive at the time.

So, while they may have talked about it, Pentax has never actually had a full frame camera available for sale in the marketplace. Then the K-1, if it does make it into consumers' hands, will be a new format for them. Also, this is a new format for Ricoh-Pentax as the previous full frame model with the shared sensor with Contax, was under different ownership. It's all in the wording.

-36 mp sony sensor
-No aliasing filter
-5 axis IS
-super resolution mode
-diffraction correction
-x0.78 viewfinder
-14 bit Prime IV engine
-crop mode to use da lenses

That sounds remarkably similar to a certain fake slide.

People seem very determined to put this brand new format issue down to poor english on the part of Ricoh - and yes, there is plenty of that in the teaser - but it does strike me as odd that they should talk so much about innovation if the only selling point they offer is that the camera is going to join what is becoming the norm amongst high-end DSLRs. Obviously, if you're going to buy an off the peg sensor from Sony, you are limited to what they produce, and this is the best reason for believing that the camera will be a conventional FF- but I have measured the rear LCD on the early FF mock-up and it has a 5:4 ratio. Now I know that you can't read across from LCD shape to sensor shape automatically - they might intend histograms or whatever to be below the playback image not to overlay it, for example - but up to now, the rear LCD has been the same shape as the sensor, so it's at least worth giving a moment's thought to, imo - 5x4 is a classic photographic ratio that can still be cropped to 3:2 or whatever you want. I haven't seen a flat on image of the under-glass model LCD, so I can't measure that.
Aaaand... the text was updated. No more "SRL", no more "Petnax" (I'll miss that one!), "PENTAX is launching a full frame digital SLR, brand-new format for PENTAX."

It's perfectly normal to talk about their rich history, it's actually abnormal not to. IMHO.

brand-new format for PENTAX."

.
of course they might have meant to say 'from Pentax'

I did notice too late that they'd changed the script, but thanks for pointing it out - though it is still the case that the rear LCD is 5:4, which is at least interesting, whatever the reason - I await further information, as we all do
