FF new rumours

i didnt found any thread in the pentaxforums, so i thought i would share this new post (via Photorumours, via Ricehigh) :

Someone at the Chinese Xitek forum hinted that he had tested the beta unit of the FF and told the following:

1. The new machine is not 42MP.

2. The AF speed is very high.

3. There are many AF points than ever.

4. SR Super-resolution mode now works handheld.

5. The result of the handheld super-resolution mode is good and it works!

6. Overall better experience than the D810.

My first guess was also that the new FF doesnt have the new 42 mp sensor. This is not necessarily bad, the 36mp sony sensor has some more potential since from a nikon rumour, nikon is working on a D810s with the same sensor to "squeeze" better ISO performance from the same "old" sensor.
Good news if they are real ofcourse

so beta FF bodies are given for testing.. (kenspo?

Thanks for the new tidbits. I'm glad it's not 42MP, that should keep the cost a bit lower.

cost saving means nothing if the manufacturer/company does not pass on that saving to the consumer

Good to see they are actually running some beta units out in the field. I hope they have some sports shooters amongst the beta testers.

Ricehigh is pretty tricky - he tends to mix real information with inflated imaginary info. I think his goal is to raise expectations too high so when the real camera comes around, it's always a let down. I wouldn't believe anything he says and I'm amazed people still quote him.

well i actually quoted photorumours.. they quoted ricehigh and ricehigh quoted a chinese forum

anyway, i would not bet my life on it, but i wish they are true

Remember back when the Nikon D700 came out at 12 MP and it was a fantastic low light camera.... My preference would be for a fantastic low light Pentax FF.

Please spread the FF low light rumor ... if it will make it come to pass.

Hand-held super resolution would be nice. But why wasn't it included in the K-3 II if this is true?

maybe it requires some new hardware stuff ^^ it'd be a huge feature on the Pentax FF to compete with other FF on the market !

Option 1 : New hardware (I don't see which one but I lack of imagination)
Option 2 : New algorithm. I know better this part (it is close to the DxO SuperRaw) : basically it is an algo for ghost removing. But the price to pay is that it lower slightly the resolution around moving objects. If so, I am not sure I would use it handheld anyway.
