Or, more accurately, 305mmball,
That would be a football Because a foot is 305mm (304.8 but who is nitpicking?) Not to be confused with the foot ball that Americans call soccer ball which is about 220mm.

I defer to your more accurate presentation of the facts, but I was thinking of the ease of acceptance of three characters, rather than your five, which would probably make a good sci-fi movie title, nonetheless.

Had a short chat with him and no, it wasn't him. He was rather shocked at the accusation as of course, the only meaningful unit system are the Planck units.

Not only because it is much more elegant (i.e. dimensionless), but because it is the de-facto standard used by all civilizations except mankind. We rather migrate now as it is still easy.

It is not a problem, though, as we have "Star Trek" to make us feel good about being retarded.

BTW, regarding the date format there is no conflict between the desire to have the most relevant (most frequently changing) part first and still achieve a useful sorting order, since there is no law that requires a sorting order to be defined on parts proceeding from left to right. The ordering of elements (here dates) and how they are presented are orthogonal aspects.

Very correct.
even Australia renamed everything from soccer to football -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Soccer_in_Australia .
This may be the official line Falk, but in actuality and everyday speech we still call it 'soccer' to differentiate it from the other major codes of football played down under. There is Rugby Union, played mainly In NSW and Qld and referred to as 'football' sometimes by its adherents; then there is Rugby League (or 'Thugby') also played mainly in those two states and similarly referred to as football by its followers; and then there is the Indigenous game of Australian Rules Football (which is the worlds best variant of Football IMHO) which has traditionally been mainly played in the southern States and W.A. Also, and apropos of nothing, in a typical Aussie fashion, we abbreviate words and then add a vowel sound to the end of them, so 'football' becomes 'footy' in local parlance.

....but this has very little to do with mode dials on future camera's....

Oh, it's a game! When I saw it on TV, I thought a small war had broken out in a field. Man it's a tough sport!

It depends on the context. In talking about matches, the use of a code name tends to be favoured, so Rugby League is often referred to as "League" by its followers, and Australian Rules is increasingly referred to as "AFL", probably because an appreciation of other ball games is growing in spite of individuals' attachments to codes and clubs.

We are obviously anticipating that the forthcoming Pentax body will be well suited to photographing sports matches…

Obviously not.
As it all started with that proposed "SOCC" mark on the new mode dial (wasn't my proposition )

There should be a converter option on the dial on the FF, to convert imperial and metric (and temperatures, etc.)

Hence the oled display on the unmarked dial.
