It's indeed interesting that they chose to showcase results with those old lenses first... Because both of them cannot be bought new. A sign that new, updated versions will come? Otherwise it makes absolutely no sense at all to use these instead of the new 24-70 and 70-200mm zooms (from a business standpoint).
The promo page seems to be updated every couple of weeks with a new item. First showing was the Pentax DNA and reference to the LX. This week reference to compatibility with all K mount lenses. Over the next few weeks we will see more topics as they relate to the new camera. Ultimately it will be the makings of a complete brochure I'm sure.

Well, I see I'm not the only one who noticed they are advertising a new camera with discontinued lenses.
Once again, that's the point.

You guys are too funny, if they release some stupid Sony with 3 lenses, that's like super duper, but Pentax emphasizes there are already 6 million lenses available, and everyone gets all suspicious. The backwards compatibility is a huge upside to this camera. Pentax will sell 10 of these to old guys with old glass for every one they sell to new users just getting into a system who aren't familiar with Pentax. Pentax knows which side their bread is buttered on. It's their way of saying to all those who bought 5Ds and Sony A7s to use their old Pentax glass, "better have another look."

And to thumb their noses at all the Canon users who cut the aperture levers on those nice old lenses.

But the article talks about "compatible with all K-mount lenses, such as the FA lenses" .. its impossible to do that with the new lenses.. what they are clearly saying is that even all lenses will work with the FF.. more articles will come that talks about how it behaves with the new lenses.

I was going to say that, but i didn't want to make those old Canon users cry. Who can you sell those old lenses to now?

Such as yourself, looking at your signature line.

Mind you, every single lens I have bought secondhand this year (and it's quite an impressive total when I look at it - perhaps too impressive) has been a film-era lens, and I think one of the digitals (DA50/1.8) is also good to go. So I'll just stand here in the ruins of my glasshouse and pick up another stone...

It'll still be great on an FF. Just not as great. Just in case I ever get an FF I bought an FA J-18-35. AN un-surprising lens in that it feels in your hand as cheap looking as the soft pictures it takes. But if I ever do get the FF, it will do until I decide I want something better.

Very exciting to see this. Looks like the hype machine is slowly starting to leave the station. I'm hoping for news about the all new flash system rumored to be developed for this camera....

Those are some pretty "meh" (and low res) images for first shots, but I'm sure we'll see better as the release date approaches.
I remember the DFA 70-200 and DFA 150-450 samples weren't great either.

Not to mention they used 24mm 400 ISO at 1/1600 when they really didn't need to?
