I remember the DFA 70-200 and DFA 150-450 samples weren't great either.

Not to mention they used 24mm 400 ISO at 1/1600 when they really didn't need to?
Is that some kind of default setting, why would they set the camera like that. Any camera will do ASA 400 clean, 1/1600 second hardly shows off the SR, and 24mm... was wid dat?

Do you suppose "shot with a camera under development" means, the final version of the software isn't done?

My reading of the use of the FA*'s in the teaser is that Pentax are simply alerting people:

- if you aren't familiar with Pentax, there will be LOTS of full-frame compatible lenses out there that will work on the new FF body straight away. The virtue of K-mount. ;

- if you are familiar with Pentax, your old glass has a new home.

Of course it makes sense. They're aiming also for pentaxians with old equipment
lol... exactly. at this point, those with nice old glasses are the one most likely to jump on it first.

I have some FA glasses and definitely want to see how my they perform on this new body.

Following industry practice the firmware won't be final until at least a couple of "improved stability for general performance" updates are rolled out.

And also aiming for pentaxians with old lenses but using them with canikon and Sony gears and the shooters on another system who have Pentax lenses.

So, as I understand, cropped lenses will be compatible with FF? Very good news, because I am not sure that I would be able to buy at once both camera and new lenses.

Of course. Not doing that could seriously hurt sales from APS-C Pentaxians who want the FF. I think every FF camera from Canon, Nikon, and Sony has a similar feature.

Very exciting to see this. Looks like the hype machine is slowly starting to leave the station. I'm hoping for news about the all new flash system rumored to be developed for this camera....
The hype machine left the station YEARS ago... it is finally arriving at it's destination after a rather scenic route.

It certainly pleases me. I've been hoarding my FA glass for a long time now. Seems hard to believe that it's been out of production for almost a dozen years, but I'm ready...

This part interests me:L

"As for the APS-C-size image sensor, the DA lens series, the cropping function makes it possible to use the APS-C-size center portion of an image. By changing the settings, you can also choose a 35mm full-frame angle of view."

Is sounds like the camera will record a full-frame image using a DA lens, including the vignetting. Is anyone else reading that quote the same way?
