I think Ricoh should abandon the US market. The D810 costs 3200 euro overhere, and currently you get a free GoPro hero+ with it. You can sell the K-1 for a good price without being cheap.

Now you're just being an outright troll. No excuse. No justification. No logical reasoning. Just antagonizing the Forum.

+100 I am quite confident that I can take good (or as good as my skills permit) pictures with almost any brand of camera. I use Pentax because I like they way it fits my hand, like the way the buttons are located, and so on. It has almost nothing to do with the actual end product but rather the experience of producing that product. Every few months I find myself in Best Buy or Costco and handle the other brands, Sony, Nikon and Canon are fairly well represented. And each time I come away wondering how those guys can get it so wrong and Pentax get it so right. I must have weird hands or something I guess since obviously the vast majority prefer the other guys
i think the vast majority don't realize there is another choice. Unless you know Pentax from film days and continued to follow it into their DSLR days there is virtually no place to get one's hands on the full range of Pentax digital bodies or to try those bodies with multiple lenses outside of Adorama's and B&H's super stores. I too flirt with Canon and Nikon in stores, but as much woo hoo as there has been over the D7200 there is no comparison to me in how it feels compared with a K-5IIS or K-3/K-3II. The real limiting factor with both Canon and Nikon is the size and weight of their good glass. Their AF-D prime lenses are more Pentax like in handling, but are nowhere near as aesthetically pleasing in form or image quality as the Limiteds

Yes , that's 3 years old tech, what Ricoh is going to release soon. The new tech that justify $3000 is the 42Mp BSI of A7RII, maybe Ricoh are using this one, otherwise the Sony 36Mp sensor is already old NRE amortized tech that's in the cost range of the 24Mp sensor used in the D750 (my guess). Perhaps the price of Pentax ff at introduction may be between 3k and 2k , but then with a significantly room for a price drop, depending on actual demand for this product.

Pentax K1... Just in time~!

I love my K5 and have use it for many years, however, this year I really started getting the urge for a FF but could not see going to Sony a7RII. I have had Pentax since the early MX series, learned on it and still have some of my original glass which was great on the K5. Since the 645d started coming down in price I gave it a lot of consideration as landscape photography is my niche... but those lenses!!$$$$

I can not be happier and always knew it was a matter of time before we all saw this. I agree, there will be a rush to purchase this but I do think (hope) it will be under $2500 body only. Sony seems to be chewing up the FF market at this time but I just can not go there... I'll take 36mp over 42mp to stay with Pentax. I also understand we will have a number of lens choices right out of the gate, and I believe options in camera for the DA series. That makes a big difference over the limited $$$Sony offerings.

I (think) I can wait until late summer hoping for a bit of price reduction, but that will be tough and over the long run - who cares?

I think you'll be smart to wait. I believe the new Pentax FF will be a dynamite camera, rock solid. Don't be hatin' on Sony's though---my A7R is a terrific camera which would be getting heavy use if not for the fact that I got a 645Z. I don't like the feel of the new A7RII as much as the A7R, but most would disagree with me. Extremely capable camera. Use any lens you want on it.
There was searing financial pain involved buying the Z for me. But not with the lenses---the used lenses are great and can still be gotten cheap. I've got 12, and together they cost less than what I would have spent getting a third of that number for an A7RII, in terms of what I've got.

No I don;t hate Sony... just never thought of it as a go-to next camera. I doubt I will ever release enough funds to go 645z, but I would love to find a way!. It will be a major step up when the K1 is released, so regardless of the price point, it's got to be a good next step. Anyone know how non-DA lenses will effect the FF K1?
