Or slightly more at release with the price gradually falling over the first 6 months. Initial demand will be high, possibly even very high, so no real incentive for a price break until the production line catches up. Ricoh supposedly was surprised at the 645z initial sales and it took them a while to catch up.
The FF will be a unique offering, even more so than the 645z, with a long term pent up demand. Sales forecasts will be even more unreliable than the 645z forecasts. At least they had the 645d sales to look at. The FF is totally unique with no way to accurately forecast sales. So no reason not to start high and then drop to maximize profit by balancing sales volume / price.
I suspect a release list price of $3,000 maybe even $3,295. But it should be down to $2,500 or so by midsummer. If they release on time of course.
